USA Gary Yuen: Is there a Latin name? I will look again at Caraka later today. From what I remember, mooli might be the only cruciferous mentioned. I think it says when not young it aggravates all doshas. Might that be because of stronger peppery taste like in mustard seed? Modern research now identifies those compounds as glucosinolates, very good against cancer and cleaning the body. Maybe coriander, asparagus or other high pitta lowering foods can be combined.

USA Gary Yuen: I am curious about grapes. America likes sweet so many bitter varieties are no longer available. They are also mostly seedless. I have heard there are other better bitter varieties. Has any identification been done to find the exact varieties used in ancient times? It's possible there are varieties they have multiple tastes, similar to amla but less intense. Red globe is the only common seeded variety in my area. I can sometimes find concord but they are rare.An Indian friend has mentioned seedless is also now common in his part of India. Seeded is much better.
Shri Minoo parabia: Vitisvinifera are the cultivated plants.
In Gujarat we have Vitisrepanda, V.latefolia, species of Cissus and Leea, where fruits are sweet but irritant. One can eat few, then after, throat starts burning. Citrus medica and C.meximaare  with large fruits. Later is pleasantly bitter-sweet-sour. Skin is very thick, ideal for making marmalade. Seedless are sweet and are good table varieties but seeded black ones are certainly good for health. One more thing I would like to add.  Seedless are sprayed with - treated with pesticides hence not advisable.
USA Gary Yuen: A study shows soaking in 10% salt water removes pesticides. Similar to how one removes bitterness from karela. Also reduces health. C mexima with bitter sour sweet seems like among best varieties if it is not too sour.
Shri Minoo parabia: Not too sour. Pulp is pinkish. Brazilian variety called Pomelo is having  red pulp.
USA Gary Yuen: Pomelo is available in many parts of Asia and also Asian markets perhaps everywhere.
Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: I think Gostani(like breast of cow) Draxa is best among all varieties.
USA Gary Yuen: Vegetables look to be more difficult to find for pitta. Many are not as bitter as in ancient times. Is asparagus much better than others at reducing pitta as some say? There are also many varieties and I am not sure if shatavari stems are edible. Perhaps so yet not available outside Asia.
Vd. Tanuja Gokhale: There are many pitta pacifying veggies such as Ridge gourd, bottle gourd, snake gourd, pumpkins, squash gourd, leafy veggies like red n green amaranthus, spinach, coriander, etc. Most of the leafy veggies are of kashay-  madhur rasa so are pitta pacifiers.
Shri Minoo parabia: Pdaval, Tricho santhesdioica is good on pitta. Katupatol, T. Cucumerina however is the best. Shatavari, not fresh shots of Asparagus, along with licorice, serves well on Pitta. My favorite, however is, mixture of popped rice and fennel soaked in water and giving this water to drink on hyper acidity.
USA Gary Yuen: Though it's said that asparagus is among the best. I am not sure if that is true or why. Are there less sour varieties of cherry for pitta? gandha-priyangu (mahaleb cherry, prunusmahaleb) looks possible.
Dr. Uday H. Hanagal:  Kharjura – Ras a-Madhura, Guna-Snigdha, Veerya—Sheeta, Vipaka-Madhura, Very good Pittashamaka, Balya, In summer season for dahashamana. Kharjuradimantha r plain juice of it  works wonder.
USA Gary Yuen: kharjura are dates? how do they compare to varieties mentioned in older texts like zizyphus jujuba? zizyphus has many used varieties, though maybe only the chinese variety of jujuba is available outside of asia.
Dr. Uday H. Hanagal: According to Ayurveda Wet dates are considered  as Kharjura.
Shri Minoo parabia: India has about 5 species of Zizyphus and scores of varitoand  cultivars of Bor, ie berry.  Unnab is Z.glabreta, jujube and nummularia.
USA Gary Yuen: The common date used by many cultures and found in most countries, it's much sweeter than the zizyphus I can find.
Dr. Uday H. Hanagal: Red & Black Wet dates are available easily.
USA Gary Yuen: Yes. Perhaps zizyphus is better for kapha. Would Amalaki be considered be best pitta fruit?
Vd. Tanuja Gokhale: Amalaki n Dadim are best for pitta. Amalaki being a rejuvenator ie.. rasayan is the best.
Dr. Uday H. Hanagal: Both varities r Kaphakara&Vata, Pittahara. Both means Red & Black Wet dates.
Shri Minoo parabia: Amala are best pittashamak, yes.
Dr. Uday H. Hanagal: Aamalaki & Dadima having Aamla rasa but Vipaka is Madhura, So in most of Pittaja Vikara's these two are drug of choice. Aamalaki & Dadima r Hrudya(good for Heart), Aamalaki is a Rasayana&Vayasthapaka.
Vd. RupaRaval: Coconut calms Vata and Pitta Dosha.
Vd. SachinKadlag: I use Moravala prepared from fresh aamalaki juice (स्वरस), dadima juice, aamalaki kalka and khadishakkar  (sita ) for pitta vikara .
USA Gary Yuen: How is hibiscus? Is it too sour for pitta?
Shri Minoo parabia: Hibiscus rosasinensis is not sour. H.sabdariffa is sour. Leaves and calyces are used in culinaries.
USA Gary Yuen: H. sabdariffa flowers are the only variety I can find.
Shri Minoo parabia: Calyx and leaves are sour.
HirenKhatri: Sour fruits are not suitable in pitta conditions. Uncooked vegetables are not preferred. Papaya helps by improving digestion.
Vd. Pulkit D. Patel: Nimbu is good for digestion n pitta shamak.
Dr. Rinku Shah: Parval soup is good for digestion.

Vd. manisha Kanchare: For pittshaman we r giving manuka, dadimb, ardrk with khadishakkar, amlaki powder with saindhav.

Vd.manishaKanchare: Tanduljal is best.
Dr. J. T. Contractor: We all know Rajasthani people eat GudkiDali, even in most Rajwadi restaurants the put good in tray when serve bill along, it's not a tradition but is a best digestive remedy which can even digest daalbaati of any numbers eaten!
Vd. Rahul Marwah: Dadim, Amla, sweet lime (in winters and only in limited amount), Moong, Masur, Tandulja, Green peas.
Croatia Branko Markovic: What would you advise from raw food what could be good for pitta? Majority of vaidyas dont even think about advising raw food but some do.. Please share your opinion.
Vd. Tanuja Gokhale: Raw food can only be given to pitta predominant person with bhasmak or atyagni.. Not all pitta predominant or excess pitta have teekshnagni. So the nature of food whether cooked or uncooked has more relevence to agni than just the dosha as pitta.

Dr. Ganesh Ramdasi: Raw food always creat ..pitt whatever may be ..so for pitta-shaman use always madhur rasa.
Vd. Rahul Marwah: Raw food is difficult to digest and is a major cause of agnimandya.
Dr. RavindraUpadhyay: For Pitta- Black grapes with seeds, kismisie with seeds are recommended.Green grapes turning brownish after they are dried.

Dr. Sushant Patil: Raisins are also useful to balance pitta.
Dr.Ashish Nathuram: IkshuRas, dadimRas, pindkhajoor.
Dr.Ganesh Ramdasi: For pittaghn best one - Mango it will help to destroy pitta and  and given bruhan also. In vegetables- lauki best one- another important one. Each vegetable are good but after sanskar property may change.
USA Gary Yuen: Carakasutrasthana 27, 166– is discussion of vegetables. After mentioning ginger and jambira (wild basil, ocimumgratissium?), mulaka is mentioned. Order may indicate importance, like moderns consider cruciferous vegetables among best. Is mukala the same as current cultivated radish/mooli, raphanus sativus? Caraka says when young good for all doshas, when not young bad for all. Is there a reason? Can we attribute it to peppery taste similar in mustard leaves and seed? Does that mean non spicy varieties like cauliflower and broccoli good for pitta but spicy like horseradish and mustard are harmful? I recently found wild radish, I think raphanusraphanistrum, and am seeking other wild varieties. Would like to know.
Dr. Sujata Vaidya: Ash gourd / Petha / kohalais the most alkaline Veg and i prescribe for pitta or pitta like toxicity including drug toxicity. It can be taken raw, juice, broth or mildly cooked.
USA Gary Yuen: That is benincasa hispida? I'm not sure if I have seen it in Indian markets in America though I have not looked for it for a long time. Other Asian markets likely to have and maybe it is the same cultivar.
Vd.mohit Lodha: In my practice I have banana daily morning best in pitta - amlapitta – ulcer.
Shri Minoo parabia: Yes. Benincasa is bhurukolu in Gujarati.
Vd. Akshata Swami: Amla Dadima pitta prakopakari where as madhura  dadima is reversed, vibhitaki also best pittashamaka. Fresh Badara is pitta shamaka dried one is pitta prakopakari. Ripe jambuphala is pittashamaka. Vatama, abhishuka, akshota, mukulaka inspite of madhura rasa they r pitta vardhaka fruits.

One case of vatpradhan kafaj kasa from Dubai: -28 / male Sushka kashan pravruti Sakasth sleshma shthivan Sakasth vakpravruti Urah shul Gal shul (kashan pravruti karant:) Balbhransh Jvaranubhuti Apak Anindra Kazan pravruti karanta: Since 40-45 days. Allopathic medicine lidha rakhi so cough jam Thai gayo.. Have situation bagadti jati hati. Tya hospital ma admit thava mate kehvama aavyu.. But have e ready nhi Mane call karyo.. Yukti dodavi ne.. aushdh yojna kari je  tnya Mali sake... 1) nagarvel nu pan- Ena per ghee lagavvanau- Be mari na Dana- Aduna Nana sopari jevda tukda - Gol  no nano tukdo. Pan banavvi  Dar kalake 1-1 pan Levu.. 2) Syrup.septilin 2 spoon ..dar kalake 3) Tab.septilin 2 ..dar kalake.. Dodh mahina  ni kas aa dar Kalak ma 4 dose ma ....50% relief according to pt. Next day . Bdhuj divas ma tran var.. Aje 4th day.. Almost 99% relief.. Je  2 days saras  unghe 6.. Phla 2days ma bhuj dushit kaf nikalyo .  Kal thi kasan  pravruti o6i Thai gai...aje divas ma 3-4 kasa veg bhagye j samnya avya je  continues day night heran karta  ta. Ayurved is becoming my heartbeat. This case is 10 Th days ago treat by me....
USA Dr. Archana Vardhan: Kali Miri with malai (fresh cream) gives instant relief in acute kasa. Haldi(pinch) + black pepper powder(1/4th tsp) + roasted lavang(2)-all powdered given with 1tsp honey...gives relief.
Dr. Dayanand Bothre: Kadhiradi vati or lavangadi vati with sharkara and vatanuloman by mild laxatives like gandharv haritaki is good for acute kas.
Dr. Jyoti Yagnik: Trikatu churna + honey  or gud water ; tds   tab. Lasunadi vati 2 bd.  Bed time virechan aushad ( as per necessity).
Dr Smita Pimpley : 1/2 tsf  Haridra churna+ 1 tsf khadi shakkar powder to be taken muhur_muhur with warm water is very effective for dry cough.
Dr.Trivedi Dhananjaya: Kantakari ghreet with sitopladi churn effective in shusk kasa.
Dr Premsukh: Sitopaladi Choorna 2gm, Tankan bhasma 500mg, madhuyasti Choorna1gm , kafaketu ras 250mg with gojiwadi kwath.
Dr.sarang Patil: 1) Sitopaladi 2gms+ abhrak 60 mg with honey twice a day  2) Decoction of Choorna of Haritaki; Pippali;Dhamasa along with kalka of Manuka is also very benificial in acute kas.
Dr. J. T. Contractor: Virudh ahar  is also cause.
Vd.pallavi Maharastra: Drinking of Warm water +haridra +salt gives good result in kas with sakshta alpa kaf nishkasan.
Shri Minoo parabia: Following is about a century old family tradition, my father used to make to treat coughing and congestion. Works extremely well .
25 leaves of Adhatoda, 10g fresh ginger, 10g turmeric , 25 grains black pepper, 5 fruit rinds of Baheda, 25 leaves tulsi, 10 leaves of. Nagarvel, 1 root paste of kantkari,15g licorice
Arrange Adhatoda leaves and put all the ingredients to wrap in the leaves. This pack in its turn wrap in several layers of wet cloth. Put this in fire. Remove from fire , when cloth starts catching fire. Remove cloth , crush and squeeze juice. Add equal amount of honey.2 spoon 4 times a day. In the modern times, wooden  stoves are not available. Readymade preparation is Asthacure.
Vd. Chital Galia: Sitopaladi + vasa+ bibhitaki+ pipali+ tankan bhasma gives good result.
Dr. J. T. Contractor: Only black pepper seeds decoction every 3-4 hr a table spoon gives relief I have noticed, allopathic Dr giving (Nabulizing) vapor of eucalyptus, camphor & sedative mixture is not advisable as the residual bad effects remains in lungs.
Vd.manasi Kulkarni: In vataj acute kasa. Give Marta basti of til tail gives good results..
Ayulink: Technically yes, but if it is experienced...we may consider it as novel concept. Can you please elaborate more? How much quantity do you suggest? how many times? and how to take? any specific method etc. Only theory may not be helpful to us. Just one basti? with which oil? dose please.Thnx
Dr. Anup Torane: Sahacharadi tail Matra basti very effective in kas anubhoot yog
Vd. Pulkit D. Patel: Its help in vataj kasa. I m also use matra basti. In kaphaj  kasa Abharaka  bhasma 250 mg trikatu churna 4 grams mix with madhu and do lehana in morning  its help for jirna kasa.....
Shri Minoo parabia: Up to extraction same. After that fermented to increase the self life.
USA Gary Yuen: Is there a reason black pepper is used over pippali?
Dr. J. T. Contractor: Well there are ample substitutes in plant kingdom for variety of ailments, black pepper is easily procured in kitchen at eleventh hr
USA Gary Yuen: Just wondering if it provides any benefits over pippali if one could choose.
Vd.mohit Lodha: 1big spoon Chavanprasha muhur-muhur chatan in acute phase stops kas vega.
Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: Black pepper is Pramathi, its good to use where Dosha is stuck and not easy to expel. So black pepper is good instead of pippali. Not idea about Kali marich with malai(cream) but black pepper with Curd is given in pratishyaya... Curd is abhishyandi and black pepper is pramathi. This combination is useful Where Doshas are stuck and not come out easily.
Shri Minoo parabia: Solanum xanthocarpum, kantkari contains  solasodine, precursor to the  steroid dexamethasone (krishnamurthy and Parabia). So the effect is quick. All piper contains piperezine, P.nigrum has little more and the taste (due to smell )is more palatable. However for vardhman prayog, lindi pepper is the best.
Dr. Suyog Kulkarni: Small piece of Yashtimadhu shira ( extract stick of yashtimadhu ) along with raw sugar ( khadi shakkar ) gives good symptomatic releif in cough.
Dr. Madhuri Patil Chaudhari: In acute cough, short term relief- Fresh  lemon juice 4-6drops in a teaspoonfull of honey, intermittently. Green fresh marich 1 piece at a time to be chewed with small pieces of  khadishakker,, esp. in case of congestive cough. where expectoration is expected.  Anubhut. or experienced remedies.  Fresh Aloe vera gel 2tsp with .5 tsp.haridra powder. or just pulp of fresh aloe vera. intermittently. if dryness of respiratory ways is causing irritative coughing.
Vd. Manhar Prajapati: Whoopin syrup of Sandu good result in kas in child  3ml according age or adult 2 tsf 3 times with anuloman like triphala..
Dr. Ravindra Upadhyay: Pl do not give Triphala to a child. Stop bread, biscuits, wafers like LAYS. Grapes will be preferred.
Dr. Kiran Prajapati: Vasa + ginger swaras with lemon and honey.  5 ml tid
Khadiradivati- Warm water gargle with haldi and salt - 3 to 4 times.
Vd. Kundan Gadhavi: In dry cough or vata/pittaja kasa- dadima tvak+kharjur fresh decoction- very effective.
Dr. Bhavin Chavda: Sir can we differentiate  one from 5 major kasa ?
Dr. Lokesh Mehta: Bresol syr from himalya gives good result in allergic cough . 2tsf TDs in adults .
Dr. Arvind Shahane: Coughing with breathlessness - Difficulty to cough nishkashan :- Sameerpannag ras 2.5 gm , Yastimadhu churn 20 gm, Ardusa churn 20 gm , Baheda churn 20 gm , Sarkara  20 gm  Mixing all together Give 1 tsf tds With  Ardusa patra kwath , Swadishth virechan 2 tab at night .Very good result My Pt is suffering from 3-4 yrs. Get good result in 1st day. Suvarn sameerpannag ras Better than sada sameerpannag ras.
Vd. Tanuja Gokhale: Lavangadi Vati works well.
Dr. Yogin Patel: For dry cough-sitopaladi 2tsp& yastimadhu2/3 tsp, honey 2-3 tsp, for productive- also add tankan 1/4tsp, trikatu churna1/2 tsp & 1 tsp ghee with kanakasav or bharangyadi kwath.
Dr.Aparna Naik: 1. Sitopaladi+ Vasa+ yasti+ kantakari+ tankan + sunthi with madhu  3-4 times a day helps.
Dr. Jyoti Ashok: Sitopaladi churna+ talisadi churna+ yashti churna+ grita + madhu. Licking muhur muhur.  I dry cough grita added to hot milk or yashti ksheera helps a lot.  Dosage, amount of churna,grita,madhu everything depends on age , avasta of vyadi, dry or wet cough etc. Everything depends on individual pt.
Ayulink: Let's now share practical tips to manage chronic kasa (cough) - kasa of any etiology.
Dr. Sushant Patil: Krumi is one of the reason for chronic kasa. Vidangarishta is also used in chronic kasa.
Dr.Ashish Nathuram: Elaborate kasa caused by 5 type of vata dosa - prana, udan, vyan, apan , saman then same of  kafa and pitta then compair wid modern  aspect then. plz guide me line of  treatment accor. To dosha.
Dr. Madhuri Patil Chaudhari: Kasa of any type. Anuloman is must. So, GudHaritaki with warm water or Gandhrv Haritaki or Ghrutbhrusht Haritaki as per doshanubandha.  Chitrakharitaki avleh. My observation works in all types of chronic kasa within 7 days along with Pathyapathya.
Dr. Jyoti Yagnik: Tab. Kafketuras , Tab. Lasunadivati,  Tab.vasaghanvati, Tab. Yastimadhu ghanvati or khadiradi vati or lavangadivati for murmur. Mahanarayan tail for body massage.All tab. 2bd. V can use krumikuthar rasa too & virechan aushad. Laxmi Vilas RAs & shwshkuthar ras if needed.
Vd. Khyati Jariwala: I m giving cap ezoxy-p...1 BD, Swas kuthar Ras...2 BD N mrudu virechak.
Dr. Jyoti Yagnik: Some time I give draxasav or bharangyadi quath With cold & temperature  condition I giv sudarshan ghanvati. In weight loss condition i give ashvagandh & shatavari tab.
Dr. Anup Torane: In vataj kas prataplankeshwar ras have extra benefits than any other kasagna ras rasayan this is my personal experience u should try this..
Dr. Ravindra Upadhyay: I have been using Samasharkara churna, Ref Bhashyajyaratnavali Kas and Arsha Chapter. It has been giving me excellent results when used with hot water whenever dry ( shushka kas) cough, with productive cough, I use with honey. Dose 1 to 2 gms. NB consumption of water should be avoided whenever  honey is used as ANUPAN. Bowel movement must be taken care of, whenever there is cough.
Dr. Rachana Mumbai: My 4 year kid used to get frequent cough and used to get fever, many a times I had to give antibiotics. I wanted to break this vicious cycle so I gave my child KUMARKALYAN RAS half  bd and bharangyadi kadha followed by laxmi vilas ras, since a year he didn't get fever, though he get cough but no fever. Last 3 month he had cough tried every thing laxmivilas ras and bharangyadi kadha but no result  Than I gave Fresh haldi, Fresh ambehaldi, Fresh ginger With honey After that also result was not desirable  When I added mint (fudina) he cough vanished Currently I m giving agastya haritaki rasayan .
One more case of 5yr old boy. He was laxmivilas ras when he came to me, he was being given that since long unaware of  limit of ras aushadhi,  To that pt I gave   Vyoshadi vati 1tds, Bharangyadi kadha (nagarjuna), ActiUrti(zoetic) 1tds, Bronco T (surya pharma), Dashmula haritaki avleha (kottakal), Swashar avleha (kottakal). All these not given at a time but within a 2yr of period At last I started him with Giloy churna , Yashtimadhu churna, Sitopladi churna  Mix it and twice a day half tea spoon Today he is very much better Swashar avleha is very good in swas but I also give in chronic cough condition . Seasonal cough is complaint of every mother, just a 2 table spoon juice of 4 ingredients mentioned above gives pleasing results. Fresh ardusi juice also helps,  Or decoction made out of it, Along with ajwain, salt, haldi  Many a times I make my child vomit in morning with help of leukwarm salty water, that helps to expel cough out which kids can't do on their own.
Allergic cough gojihvadi kashay also helpfully, Someone mentioned above about virechan,  That is the effect of two medicines-  Dashmula haritaki avleha, Agastya haritaki rasayan . Both are having haritaki which does anuloman of vayu as well had rechan effect. And I have seen very good results with both
Vd. Hardik bhatt, Idar: Put cow's pure ghee in both nostrils is a best way to protect body from allergens.  Daily twice in a days gives very good results.
Vd. Rupa Raval: I experienced in many cases, it really works, and prevent frequent cough and cold

IPR Chhayaben: I as non medico, use adu n haldar ....Best for any type of kafa .
Dr. Ravindra Upadhyay: Nocturnal cough is due to post nasal discharge. Treat the cold, consequently cough will be taken care of. Stop giving decongestants. Pl give  Balchaturbhadra syp/ churna. Stop giving bath to a child till he/ she recovers. Sponging with lukewarm water added with diluted Dettol. Inhalation of fumes of roasted ajwa in twice a day
IPR Chhayaben: I used to do malish with oil with ajwa. On chest to my young daughter. N it helped..
Dr. Ravindra Upadhyay: Application of finely ground Vacha powder over chest helps. Small packs of Vacha powder be kept near the head of the child. Fragrance of Vacha helps to overcome congestion

Contractor: My father used to give us a Jadi( fibrous herb) during kasa ailment of any type, we used to chew it & gulp the saliva, chewing ran through 3-4 days until get rid of the coughing & allowed parents to have a sound sleep! Secret of that jadibuti, unveiled when saw my father scratching a babool tree inner soft bark.
Dr. Samir Suneri: We r using daruhaldi + vacha mix powder churna dukan nasya for my 2 month child it is useful in congestion
Shri Minoo parabia: Traditional regimen - Roasted ajma 50g, Haldi powder  20g, Rock salt.5g mix and grind. Just keep a large pinch of powder on tongue and chew on slowly. Coughing subsides . Keep a piece of Granthik moola in mouth, coughing subsides.
Dr. Bhavini Raja: Chewing leaves of ajvain with salt also effective in kasa.

Dr.rohit jain : Vasa is drug of choice in t.b kasa, Yastimadhu churn+cow ghrat is very useful.
Dr. Rachana Mumbai: Amlapitta Janya Kaas, kaas due to irritation in throat because of hyperacidity treat hyperacidity Kaas will be cured.

Dr. Nahida Tarannum: For the management of acute cough . I generally prescribe based on patients history whether it is dry cough or productive  any associated fever  in general  if patient is non diabetic -  supres cough syrup 3*teaspoons TiD for adults and for children 1*teaspoon TiD for two weeks added talisapatradi tablets as lozenges one  TiD- advice to be given to avoid cool drinks ice creams etc.  If patient is diabetic ...kofol d  lozenges  1_1_1...tulasipatra swarasa one tablespoon mixed with cup of lukewarm water  TiD before food ...                       
Dr. Rahul Doke: Dry cough + throat irritated - Syr cougsol 10ml 1-1-1-1 (gargles & den drink it) , Tab. A-Flu-O-Cil 1-1-1 , Salt water gargles , Warm water to drink
For productive cough.. Steam, salt water gargles & ginger water to drink, Syr. Breath easy 10ml 1-0-1 after food , Tab. Swasosol 3-3-3 before food, Usual dietary restrictions of cold, sweet, oily & sour foods.. Taking rest for a day or two helps a lot...

Dr. Rajeshkumar Radadiya: I use mostly tab sitopaladi 2 tab morning and evening with warm water. For 1 week.along with  tab yastimadhu ghan  1 tab for chewing every 2 hours/24 hours or day.                       
Vd. Krutika Suhas Chaudhary: Sitopaladi with more ghrut is useful in dry cough.. And same is used in productive cough with more honey. We can used it cupfull in frequent doses.                       
16710: In dry cough as vata is the main dosha so acutely ghee with  2-3 cardamom (which are burnt to black) and crushed to powder. Add crushed sakar to the mixture and have it muhur muhur.Gives quick relief.                       
In productive cough - Kaphavata aggravation , tulsi (appx 50) and , adarak juice (1/2 tsf). Made to 1tsf of juice and have it 6-8 times a day. With light food And follow pathyaapathya.

16710: Yes very helpful. It is a bit vamanopaga drvya but so ghee and sarkara are added. Only mashi is very helpful in productive cough , nit makes it out by vomiting. Then not to add sarkara and ghee.                       
Dr. Shantanandkumar: 1tsf shunti churna +100 ml water+50 ml milk  boil up-to refuse half. Drink while lukewarm  3 times per day or even instead of tea. It also useful in aamavat .                     
Dr. Khushbu Patel: Tab.kho kho ( Zoetic) 1 tds with water. For dry cough i advised 1-2 ilaichi wrapped in cotton and burn it...after that open it...and make powder it and mix it with honey tk it 3 times a day.it gives good results. Syp.kufsol(bhuvneshwari) 1 tsp tds..

Vd. Suhas Chaudhari: Shunthi+gud+ghee same quantity mixer. Make in form of little laddoos,use them empty stomach. Very good results. In agnimandya janya mostly diseases like cold, cough, aamavaat etc.                       
Croatia Branko Markovic: 5 g. sitopaladi with teaspoon of honey 3 x before meal. Yashtinadhu capsules 2-2-2 before food with warm milk. Warm oil + salt rubbed on chest or as bandage over night.                       
Vd. Pritam Bharat Veer: Vaataj kaas Eladi vati for chewing 3-4 times a day. Also I used to give mixture of following .  Kantakari + vaatvidhwas+ Shathi+ sitopaladi+ shrungi+ talisadi churn +  devdar +  pippali(minute quantity)  3-4 times with tail and madhu. Also Bhrungraja asaw 2 3 tsp with water. For kafaj kaas : vasa kantakari sitopaladi talisadi pippali with honey.In all types of kaas I advice to take Dry drakshya and khandsharkara. It soothes the track.With Adulasa mixture by arkshala satara.

Vd. Sachin Kadlag: For acute kasa  (specially sakapha kasa)  I use decoction of amruta kantakari pimpali and yashtimadhu. (Each medicine in churna form  12.5 gm per day )  Kwath is prepared by adding  800 ml water to this combination plus mrudwika , dry date,  khadishakkar,  and tulasi leaves are added for decoction.  It's boiled till 400 ml remains then it's filtered .  This kwatha is administered orally throughout day मुहुर्मुहु . Total quantity to be consumed daily is 400 ml  for 2 to 4 days .Nice and fast results.

1. Vataja Kasa –  caused by Vata Dosha
2. Paittika Kasa – caused by Pitta)
3. Kaphaja Kasa – caused by Kapha) and
4. Kshayaja Kasa and

Hiren Khatri: Trikatu + turmeric + yastimadhu + Vasa+ tulsi. All powders in equal proportion. Take 1 teaspoon ful powder, one hour before meal two times a day. Useful in chronic cough.

Dr. Shakun Palkar: Suvarnmalinivasant 1BD for2wks then Laghu malni 1bd for 4. to6 wks. along with this. Sitopaladi 1tsf tds.    Yashtimadu pieces small to be chewed throughout day                       
Hiren Khatri: It can be taken for longer time.                       
Vd. Jignesh Thakkar: my friends wife was suffering from kas after langhanam. She was feeling dryness in through and hoarseness of voice...when detail detailed History taken.i got the clue that she is in dieting for loosing weight....from last 3 months she is not taking oil or ghee at all.they are living in small town .where they can't find any ayurved  medicines...I just said her to take 1 tag ghee bd and she improved within 7 days.Ent specialist opinion was to perform surgery on vocal cord. If kasa is associated with langhanam we can cure it by  ghritpan. Search the nidan(cause of disease) and treat accordingly..that's the ayurved .

Pittaj kasa... 1.. syp..vasavaleh sandu 10 ml tds bef food with Laghu vasant malti ras 2-2-2 &  sudarshan ghanvati 2-2-2 .. 2.. tb laxmivilas ras 2-2-2 & Tb. Pyrid nagarjuna 1-1-1..
Kafaj kasa... 1.Vasasavam 20 ml tds aft food with laxmivilas ras 2-2-2 with vyoshadi vati 2-2-2 2.bronchorid syp 20 ml tds bef food  3..sitopaladi churna mix with swaskuthar ras 125 mg & tankan bhasma 250 mg with hoey 3 to 4 time empty stomach....
In all condition Tulasi yukta aushad sadhita jala....Proper diet should explain                       
Dr Sandeep Madaan: Many times I got results with fresh curd jaggery and black pepper in chronic dry cough. It lubricating as well is expectorant. 3days course is advised. Along with other medicine like laxmi Vilas, lavangadi and talisadi churna+ sfatik bhasma.

Dr.sarika Singh: Worm infestation also can cause cough. Deworming with Vidangaristha and  chitrakadi vati is  useful                       
Dr. P. A. Deshpande: 'masage on chest and back with castor oil (warm(  paste of garlic ginger one fourth spoon covered with castor leaves and hot fomentation is useful in cough. Warm water mixed with Lemon grass tulsi  dry slices powder periodically  and  mild laxative helps.  This not recommended COPD Or lung cancer                       
Dr Ganesh pawara.: 3 weeks ago a pt came in my clinic with c/o dry cough, irritating felling in throut from 15-20 days.he tools lot of allopathic medicine but no result.After i took history of pt I got he is a bidi smoker. I give him sitopaladi churn with honey (chatan) each 2hrly. Tab septilin 1tds For 1 week. And said nidhan parivarjanam. Pt cured.                       
Dr. Dilip Nalage: I got very good results in chronic kas in pt having history of alcohol intake regularly since many years, he was not ready to stop alcohol, according to symptoms, he was having kas Vegas in pittakal nearly around 12 midnight, his condition was he will not take more medicines, only single medicine, I gave him pittashekhar (dhut papeshvar) 1 b.d. and got very good results within a week .
