Ayulink Ayurveda: Most common kshar are yava kshar and apamarga kshar. We have very short descriptions available in the texts and we hardly use it in practice.  Sushruta has more focused on  the use of different kshar - internally and externally too.  Where the surgery is not feasible or possible,  there kshar can be used that is what the text says.

Use of alkali or Alkaline cautery is not popular in modern  medicine.

Dr. Savad Kerala: Kalyana kshara is available for kottkal pharmacy and can be given abdominal pain, intestinal obstruction, renal calculi.

Dr. Manshukh Mangakiya: It is useful in Shtoulya.

Vd. Jayesh Thakkar: Palas kshar also available used both externally and internally. Shiva Kshar Pachan churna....kshar in little is digestive stimulant

Ayulink Ayurveda: Kalyana kshar made from? Pl tell more about palash kshar How to use?  Dose etc

Dr. Savad Kerala: One pinch internally with honey or kashaya depending on condition. Kalyana kshara even we can give in PCOD also

Ayulink Ayurveda: Oh it's combination formula named as kshar.  But it's not exact kshar prepared from a herb or herbs. That's great

Ayulink Ayurveda: I heard that now in days very few producers produce real kshar.  As the ratio of bhasma or kshar is hardly 6-8%

Dr. Savad Kerala: May be When we look it into ingredients of chandraprabha vati it's also having kshara guna And calcium compounds like shanka bhasma Kamadugda rasa also having kshara guna but mridu kshara guna Where as palasha kshara kalyana kshara are tikshna

Dr. Jaya Sambhus: Kamalnal kshar is replacement of ecosprin .  I often used this in Heart blockages n dvt pt

Ayulink Ayurveda: This is very interesting. Never heard or used it. Please let us know more about this

Dr. Arvind Shahane: Ikshurakkshar is giving good results in gall bladder stones n CBD stones.  I have got Result one time. But after then I can't get Ikshurakkshar. In Gujarat respected Vaidhya Ashokbhai Talaviya is prepare this kshar

Ayulink Ayurveda: I contacted a reputed pharmacy to produce different kshar, but they are not very enthusiastic. As the kshar production is very costly, as yield is very low. Many vaidyas are not using now in days so market demand is very low. But apamarg kshar and yava kshar are easily available in Gujarat market. We need to revive the use of kshar, as it is mentioned in the text that where you can not perform surgical procedure, kshar are best option.

Kadali kshar, ikshu kshar, kamalnal kshar, Palash kshar are really interesting to know. Please elaborate more about this. How to get it, how to preserve it, how and when to use it, what are the precautions etc. So that other friends can also practice it.

Dr. Manshukh Mangakiya: Narikel lavan is used for gallstones. All kshar are useful for gallstones because calculii is made of pitta.

Dr.Satish Panda: तालमखाना बीज की भस्म , इसका उपयोग हम पानीय क्षार के रूप में पित्ताश्य अश्मरी में करते है, ये अच्छा लेखन कर्म करता है, की cutting कर के सूक्ष्म करता हुआ भेदन कर देता है।

Dr.Satish Panda: Hydrophila ash water (paniya kshar as per ayurved) used for gall stone

is yava.
Dr. Dhananjaya Bairagi: Varangak क्षार  widely used by दातार panchbhoutik वैद्य.....in very little doses...for spleen and it's disorders..
