Vd. Dhruti Kagrana: Ruksh & khara Guna of Vata
Ayulink Ayurveda: There are internal as well external reasons for skin dryness and roughness
Vd. Pritam Bharat Veer: Dryness is because of vat prakop Ruksh gun of vat increases. Internal also vat prakop And external shit rutu eg varsha rutu
 Vd. Dhruti Kagrana:
External reasons: dry environment, frequently washing hands, inadequate hydration, swimming in a chlorinated pool or jobs that are rough on the hands such as mechanics or farming.
Ayulink Ayurveda: Internal causes are: Vata aggravating diet, cold food, dry food, less consumption of sneha. aahar and vihaar are important to understand...aahar plays a major role in internal factors
Vd. Dhruti Kagrana: Internally Dry skin condition may be caused by taking some medicines, as well. Some examples are high blood pressure, high cholesterol, allergy, and acne medications. Occasionally, a dry skin problem can be a sign of an internal medical condition. For instance, aging may inherently make people more prone to dry skin
Dryness - Rukshta is one of the pre-sign (Purvaroop) of Panduroga /Anemia
Ayulink Ayurveda: There are many students in todays webinar...I wish they can add here list of diet / food which can cause dry skin
Ayucafe 032019 79: Decreased snigdhata of rasa dhatu causes twak rookshata
Dr. Madhura Phadtare: Atichinta also can cause rukshata of skin ? As it causes rasa dushti
Dr Rahul shihire: Increase desh cold guna couse rushcta
Ayulink Ayurveda: yes, mano-daihik bhav are important to understand
Vd. Dhruti Kagrana: Dry skin  often has an environmental cause. Certain diseases also can significantly affect your skin. Potential causes of dry skin include:
*Weather*: Skin tends to be driest in winter, when temperatures and humidity levels plummet. But the season may not matter as much if you live in desert regions.
Heat. Central heating, wood-burning stoves, space heaters and fireplaces all reduce humidity and dry your skin.
*Hot baths and showers*: Taking long, hot showers or baths can dry your skin. So can frequent swimming, particularly in heavily chlorinated pools.
*Harsh soaps and detergents* :Many popular soaps, detergents and shampoos strip moisture from your skin as they are formulated to remove oil.
*Other skin conditions*: People with skin conditions such as atopic dermatitis (eczema) or psoriasis are prone to dry skin
Ayulink Ayurveda: excessive stress, anxiety, fear, crying are to be considered for dryness of skin. This is more modern causes.....excessive use of chemicals, exposures to pollution can make skin problems
Dr. Madhura Phadtare: Excessive caffiine consumption also can cause dry skin
Ayulink Ayurveda: and herbal tea? or regular teas?
Ayucafe 032019 79: Yes, in atichinta chalatva and shookshma raja guna increase , which impact on hrudaya wch is moolastana of rasa dhatu. By this rookshata increase
Dr Rahul shihire: Low concumsion of water due cold couse dry Ness of skin
Ayucafe 032019 79: Herabal tea won't cause sir. Anidra also one of cause.
Ayulink Ayurveda: my question was for Tennins?
Vd. Dhruti Kagrana: Rukshta(dryness) & Kharata(roughness) always together?
Ayulink Ayurveda: very interesting question. mostly dry surface feels rough too. How to differentiate both? I think it is not compulsory to have roughness - dryness togehter.
Dr Rahul shihire: Bcoz both are vatt Gunna...samanya vishesh sidhant
Ayulink Ayurveda: Like mouth  / oral cavity can be dry  but rough......intestine can be dry and rough both.....dryness will cause constipation and furthermore when roughness will be there, it will produce ulceration
lets discuss about the management of rough skin and dry skin. most common - everybody knows : application of sneha
Ayucafe 032019 79: Abhynaga is most important treatment
Ayucafe 07 2019 16: Internal snehan
Ayucafe 07 2019 16: In diet
Ayucafe 032019 79: Like snighdha ushna taila
Vd. Dhruti Kagrana: Yes. In winter daily application of milk cream reduce dryness
Ayucafe 07 2019 16: Til tail abyang is best
Ayulink Ayurveda: again management can be from external and internal - two types
Ayucafe 032019 79: Narayana taila, bala asjwaghadha lakshadi taila maha masha, masha taila,
Ayulink Ayurveda: prevention is first step to remember. shamana and brumhan snehan are good to understand here. shaman sneha will be for asymptomatic relief - till the dryness removes or roughness removes
Vd. Dhruti Kagrana: In winter we eat   - Adadiya, Khajurapaka, Halva  - Snigdhadiet
Ayulink Ayurveda: That is brumhana snehan
Dr. Jayesh Patel: Less cosmetic uses......it's harmful to skin......just apply coconut oil or tail is enough for external use.....
Internal use- take plenty of water, use some ghreet with meal....&  Uses Purely home food
Ayulink Ayurveda: depending upon skin type - use of oil, ghee, milk, milk cream, butter etc can be apply to the skin (also need to consider the location of the skin too)
Dr Jayesh Patel: Rt .in oily skin can't use oil....just wash it warm water......
Ayulink Ayurveda: due to dryness/ roughness  cracks on heel (paddari), cracks on lips can be there...but for both condition we can have different materials. on heels we can apply ghee or castor oil......on lips we can use milk cream or coconut oil or ghee.
Dr. Madhura Phadtare: Tea contains tannin which is astrigent in taste ...and kashaya  rasa increases rukshata but also does twaka prasadan(va.su.10/20-21) ....so it should not cause dryness of skin ...please correct me if i am wrong...any difference of opinion are also welcome
Ayucafe 032019 79: Internally ghee, payasa are good
Ayulink Ayurveda: please share payasa preparation.
Dr Rahul shihire: Use ropan soap for bath
Vd. Dhruti Kagrana: I do not use chemical cosmetics in my clients for facial. I use milkcream based herbal kit for facial & other beauty procedures.
Dr Rahul shihire: In case of dryness skin
Ayucafe 07 2019 16: Excess intake causes dryness
23268: For Vat shaman = external & internal snehan ( abhyang with hot oil & khichu eating with sesame oil )
This is also time for kapha sanchay so external kapha vrudhhi kar but internal only vat shamak to be used ....

Ayulink Ayurveda: soap made of? without chemical?
Dr Rahul shihire: Yes, Ropan tail soap
Ayulink Ayurveda: Oil dhara, sneha dhara are also good for external use. Internally snehapan has one side effect....it may increase weight.. please share any classical formulas, if you suggest
Ayucafe 07 2019 16: If properly taken, ghee or oil never increases wt
Ayulink Ayurveda: kansa bowl massage on feet is now becoming popular in west. instead of feet, now they give massage to different parts of the body too. I have seen kansa massage toold - very small size to give massage on face too.
Dr. Madhura Phadtare: If cause is rasa dushti then Praval pishti will also useful to decrease dryness .
23268: Yes sir so I told internal snehan to be selected which is vat shamak + not kapha prakopak ( like haridra yukta snehan kashay RAS Pradhan )
Dr Rahul shihire: In depth video on how to make ropan soap :

Dr. Madhura Phadtare: What is proportion of lye and oil ?
Ayulink Ayurveda: Have any one applied locally mustard oil for dryness of skin. Krushara massage is also now getting popular in west for good skin. krushara (khichadi) made with some herbs and oil or ghee - applied warm like sarvang abhyang / svedana
Dr. Madhura Phadtare: Pinda sweda also will be useful then for glowing skin ?
Ayulink Ayurveda: I think that has some reference in books, but in India, we hardly see such kind of treatment
Dr Poornima: Application of
Coconut oil+tila taila+ erandataila+grita
together helps alot in extremely dry skin
Ayulink Ayurveda: Yes, pind sveda with rice, with herbs - deeped in oils are always good. But this krushara massage is something new for marketing of ayurveda - not in India
yes, outside India....I will share a photo of it...offered by one of the best (5 star) hotel in Europe
Ayulink Ayurveda: udvartana is generally dry......powder based...This krushara massage is semi-liquid lump / paste form with oils. I am sharing New idea for practicing Ayurveda
