Branko Markovic: some home remedies
Salt Water Gargle with pinch of curcuma
swedana of face with eucaliptus or simillar herbs
yashtimadhu
apple cider vinegar + honey
sucking cloves
Trikatu with honey could do the job also
Dr. Dayanand Bothre: I also recommend lavangadi vati or khaduradi vati muhumuhu . Ghee application for redness
Branko Markovic: It is mostly of Pittaja and Kaphaja origin.
Pitta: pain and burning sensation, redness, high fever, headacke
Kapha: swelling, itching, hoarsness of voice, difficult to swallow
Dr. Richa Mehta: Sitopaladi churna+ with honey
Haridra powder with milk or ghee
Dr. Arvind Shahane: ASFA surat yastimadhu vati is also effective
When pitta also involved
Dr. Vikas Sharma Punjab: I use naushader+mulethi+hritaki +honey
Along with leuk warm water
Dr.Pratibha Knere: Kanthasudharak vati, Warm water with trifala gargling, Turmeric milk
One tsp sugar with three to four drop's of nilgiri oil....twice a day
Effective
Arjun Mehta: Black pepper and Ginger ( fresh or powder) mixed with dark honey is also very effective, especially when one has a productive cough
Dr Jayesh Patel: Khadiradi Vati is best medicine for sore throat.....
Vd. Pritam Bharat Veer: Sore throat can be because of kafa dosh adhikya. For sore means kandu. Kandu is only because of Kafa dosh.
Kanthe kandu ,, can be cured by gargling with triphalaa quatha.
Sukhma triphala,Kantakari kalp, sitopaladi churn  are drug of choice which have action on throat.
I give Eladi vati , khadiradi vati.
Dr. Mrugeshkumar Patel: Tab Talisadi vati is very use ful in sore throat.
Vd. Pritam Bharat Veer: Yes Talisadi vati also has good results.
Also I used to give Yasti kwath whole day sip by sip.
Vd. Jayesh Thakkar: Sore throat can be of cold cough, as overuse in speaking professional (like teacher, singer) or due to infections like pharybgitis, laryngitis, etc.
As per nidaan soothing and mild lekhan medicines works good.
Very good collection mentioned by all. In singer or non improving kanth-sudharak vati and eladi works good.
In case of chronic and weakness rasayan works well.
Avery effective home remedy learnt from vaidya Labh Shankar Thakar notes - soak few pc of Gol marich in warm liquified ghee and us it for licking off and on...it helps immediately in voice down of sore throat
Vd. Dhruti Nirav Bhatt: My own experience Turmeric ,Ghee, Saindhav melted together and take it .
Turmeric, Yastimadhu  and salt water gargle
Panchal valkal kwath
Gargle if ulcers r there. Yastimadhu + Sitoaladi with ghrit
Food:
Give Food made with Ghee and wheat flour like Rab, Halwa,
Soup, Khichdi
Drink warm water
Ayucafe 06 2019 02: Eladi vati useful for sore throat
Ayulink Ayurveda: sometimes I observed that due to dryness in the throat or roughness in throat wall, sore throat can be possible. Irritation in the throat produces coughing too. In such case Khadiradi or lavangadi makes more dryness. Yashtimadhu ghan vati is good. ready made pills available in the market in the name of throat lozenges are having menthol in high dose, and that also increases roughness in long run. If not properly treated sore throat can turn in to irritative dry coughing
Dr. R Prathiban: Totally agreed sir, dust allergies, pollutions, chemicals, change of water, ice creams, even some people develop for agarbathis also, always has to take hot water, gargling with salt water, talisapatradi churnam in initial stages
Dr. Rachana Mumbai 1: My own experience I used to get throat infection every 3 months since my college times
And I had a bad habit of taking betanasol with doxycycline
After that I discovered a solution for my problem
Applying 1.YASHTIMADHU PASTE IN MILK OR WATER inside the throat at bed time
Next morning half of it is cured
2. Triphala gu 2 tds
After that frequency of infection reduced to once a year
2 months back my child got bacterial infection with fever
He had Cherry red coloured throat with pain and could not swallow even water
Considering it as vaat pitta jwar I gave him drakshadi kadha, triphala gu for throat infection and yashtimadhu paste application in throat....
Without antibiotic his fever & throat infection was cured
Frequency of infection *increased * to 1 year
Ayulink Ayurveda: I think there is no 100% management of itch in the world - itch anywhere in the body. so when starts itch in throat - inside and results in dry-irritative coughing it is very difficult to manage. I prefer licorice - yashtimadhu in any form in such conditions. sometimes considering vata as primary dosha (not Kapha) i suggest to keep a single piece of black pepper (chusne ke liye - to be sucked) and it works magically. Please do not ask me mechanism. Some experiments I have learnt from my guru Late Vd. Kirit Pandya. Hari Om.
72927: Haridra has been effective in such cases
Shahil H Bhavsar: Persons who breath from mouth may also develop sore throat.
Warm water mixed with saindhav salt gargling is helpful
2168: Most common causes if virus or bacteria, general categories of herbs are bark and flowers. Many have action against multiple bacteria and viruses. Yet still the entire diet is implicated in ojas.
Dr. Jyoti Ashok: Yashti ksheera paka with grita is v good in this type of cases
2168: I'm not convinced there is no treatment. Why do texts begin the section of treatment of all conditions, cikitsasthana, with rasayana? Because all conditions are due to years of following an improper regime and all treatments also require rasayana therapy.
Dr. Jaya Sambhus: Sore throat is associate  symptom due to other issues in body which includes acidity , viral infection ...... Even excess stress. According to our Ayurveda throat is kaph rakt sthan ( location) . So always think rakt dusti in sore throat
Raktpachak work nicely along with haritaki pachan churn ( AH / jwar )
Jugular raktmokshan
Dhupn
Gandush
All these gives faster relief (in 1 night )
Vd. Pritam Bharat Veer: Why haritaki pachan mam?? Also very nicely explained relationship of kaf rakt and throat.
Dr. Jaya Sambhus: 38 yr male  C/o sore throat since 1.5 year
Hoarseness of voice  Rx taken allopathy Homeopathy tried But no relief
H/o  recurrent renal calculi Operated My treat Jugular raktmokshan
Once a week 3 times Mahatiktak ghrut at mor Gandharv haritaki at night With in 3 days come with sweets in hands telling that he hear his normal voice after long time It covers all viral conditions I m using this for long time
Vd. Pritam Bharat Veer: Haritaki in form of Gandharv haritaki or only Haritaki
Fo Netherland Prashant: In case raktamokshan is not possible. What would you have advised?
Dr. Jaya Sambhus: It's a combination of 6 to 7 drugs
Vd. Hardik bhatt: panchvalkal kwath foe gargel .gives good result.
Dr. Jaya Sambhus: As I told earlier Rakt pachak or any rakt sudhikar
Dr. Anup Torane: Gandhak rasayan n gandhak druti work very well in gal rog
37470: As per text and experience Khadiradi vati for chewing 3 to 5 time daily with triphala gargle is enough in sore throat related to any virus

Next topic of discussion: Immunity - Ayurveda
Ayulink Ayurveda: How long it takes to improve immunity, with all our powerful immuno-promoters? or immunity boosters, as AYUSH suggested? or I can re-frame the question: how much time is needed to increase immunity in one healthy person ?jand should  we (everyone) start having such immunity promoting herbs?
***************************************************************************
Immunity is the balanced state of multicellular organisms having adequate biological defenses to fight infection, disease, or other unwanted biological invasion, while having adequate tolerance to avoid allergy, and autoimmune diseases. Enjoy interesting information on Immunity from experienced Dr. Prerak Shah in this episode.
***************************************************************************

Vd. Gurumahantesh: I think sir it depends on person's agni bala and prakruti
Shri Minoo parabia: Innate, adaptive and passive are the 3 types of immunity, one has.
Innate we inherit with birth.
Adaptive we develop against the cause or invasion of the vectors.
Passive is by the process of immunizations like vaccines.
Ayulink Ayurveda: I think the rasayana herbs takes min 2 weeks to promote immunity.
Dr. Supratim Bir: In Ayurveda do we have such immunity booster by direct reference?
Or the principles of Agni dipan, aama pachan, srota shodhan and dhatu poshan are being taken care of to produce immunity
Branko Markovic: depends of doses
Shri Minoo parabia: So innate is there and passive developed immediately. Adaptive takes time. It is the adaptive immunity, you are questioning. This depends upon personal capacity, decided by Ahar, vihar
Branko Markovic: indeed it seems a lot of things as per texts to come to good immunity but for "healthy" person I think it is good to follow seasonal taking of rasayanas to keep up with kala, agni etc..
Dr. Savad Kerala: Susrutha has mentioned approx  7 days for nourishment of sukra dhatu and ojus sara of sukra
Dr. Supratim Bir: Ayurveda principles are not always needed to get interpreted with modern terms. Ayurveda do prevent and cure with its own parameters.
Ayulink Ayurveda: then how long we should continue it to consume?
Dr. Supratim Bir: What about if the person is having agnimandya and srota barodh ? How will we assess the sukrasar formation ?
Ayulink Ayurveda: practically now patients are asking so many questions about immunity, herbs, and formulas prescribed by our renowned practitioners and its effect - direct an indirect on viruses.. This is really a headache to convince all of them about the role of rasayanas and ayurvedic perspective
in this time of pandemic, most people are feared and want to have something like quick acting - kind of magic which can save their life.
lots of messages over social media does not serve purpose and there are many confusions are there. Finally such patients have started asking many questions, though I clearly mention that I am not a Corona expert. and I have no separate suggestions for anybody. Please follow government guide line. Still few questions are there, which I wish to discuss here with all of you.
Branko Markovic: well with Amalaki you cannot go much wrong and also with Guduchi
Dr. Savad Kerala: Obviously we should maintain agni because sukra is 7 th dhatu and we should correct jataragni and rasa dhatawagni
If we compare ghee and milk both are madhura guru snigdha... but gritha still do dipana ojus is like gritha... dipana is the thing which can fight against anything and snigdha madhura is giving bala....
Dr. Vikas Sharma Punjab: Immunity depends on  Agni bal if we improve agni property then ultimately we improve immunity. More dhatu dushti take more time to improve immunity.
Branko Markovic: From all Rasayna Haritaki and Amalaki are mentioned as ones which can be taken for long time. Some of my ayurvedic frends even take Guduchi form more then 2 years everry day and they dont have any problem like diseases
Ayulink Ayurveda: (1) should we ask all of our patients to start taking immunity promoting herbs?
(2) How long it will take to build immunity - aprox time? No theoritical answers
(3) How long one should consume such herbs or products?
(4) Are these products really works? How to evaluate the actions? How they will come to know that there immunity is now improved and good enough?
Branko Markovic: All my family is taking Amalaki and Guduchi daily small doses..and they rearly get sick
Dr. Vikas Sharma Punjab: Here not only we pasify tridosha but also we do work on manas dosha also
Dr. Savad Kerala: Its done by looking into rasa dhatwagni itself if rasa dhatu is formed properly then it takes approximately 7 days for sukra dhatu nourishment
Branko Markovic: Had few cases of Corona in Croatia. Some with symptomes lasting for even 10 days of fever, dry cough, pain in chest body each..all of them wore treated within 7 days only!
Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: Many drs suggesting Chloroquine as a prophylaxis in Covid19. Chloroquine is Tikta rasa, I think Guduchi is also Tikta Rasa and helpful to combat Covid19, to improve immunity.
Branko Markovic: Some 15 persons I gave Guduchi, Amalaki and Tulsi/Yashtimadhu and they are taking combination for 1 month and not single person report any symptomes and they move around also
Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: It's not always true. First we should understand DhatuPoshana nyaya.
Dr. Vikas Sharma Punjab: I think rsayan provide instant immunomodulater effect.if we want stable immunity we should fortify our agni with meda yukta ahar etc
Ayulink Ayurveda: I think Chloroquine is from cincona bark....same with sudarshana?
Branko Markovic: In the world we live in with all polution (guduchi take care of ama, garavisha and amavisha), food which is depleating agni, manas also..my opinion is that it is good to take something daily to keep up
Dr. Laxmi Divya: Pippali vardamana rasayana mentioned in rajayakshma chikitsa in particular to swasa kasa can be an option to think at this particular time
Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: Guduchi and Sudarshana in high dose is very beneficial in viral condition.
Branko Markovic: Yes Guduchi often is prescribed even in doses up to 25 capsules of kashaya daily
Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: I myself take even 20-30 tablet per day. I also prescribe it in my family members
Branko Markovic: yes! Same with Amalaki..even Yashtimadhu can go in big doses, Tulsi etc..depend of persons..
Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: One should consume more water when Amalaki is being taken in large dose, otherwise there is chances of formation of stone. As amalaki having many minerals
I took Tulasi in very large dose when I was in tour of South India. It gave good relief in Respiratory problems but I had burning micturation as side effect
Ayulink Ayurveda: yashtimadhu - licorice in big dose can produce vamoit (as it is vamanopag) and also I have read somewhere that it higher BP. So be careful for that matters.
Branko Markovic: Indeed! It is not for long time and doses are goin like in Vardhamani Pippali Rasayana.. slowly up and then down
It is said that it is increasing BP. And here in EU everybody are paranoid by that but so far with bigger doses I dindt notice that
Rasayana is the means of obtaining the best qualities of body cells and tissues and is able to defeat aging and disease. All rasayanas are ojovardhaka i.e. promoter of ojas or immune strength in the body, imparting vyadhikshamatva i.e. immunity in the body. The mode of action of rasayana remedies has been deliberated for long. Many scholars consider rasayana effect as the prabhava (specific therapeutic effect) of these remedies without really giving rational interpretation. However, Professor RH Singh et al (1972) have suggested that the rasayana remedies and measures act at three levels and produce subtle molecular nutrient and immune-enhancing effect with a range of secondary impacts such as improved nutritional status, immune-enhancing, longevity, healthy aging, promotion of health and prevention of disease. The three levels of action are:
At the level of rasa acting as a direct nutrient enriching the nutrient value of plasma.
At the level of agni acting as digestive and metabolic booster.
At the level of srotas acting as srotoprasadana promoting the microcirculation and tissue perfusion. The net effect of all the three levels of action is an improved nutrition.
Dr. Pankaj Chhayani: Rasayana topic is interesting as it's a branch in 8 branches लाभों पायो हि शस्तानां रसादीनां रसायन!  As per this definition, Prashasta (High quality) Dhattu can't be produce without Normal state of Agni, and heathy state of Srotosa. Rasayana must be used at end of all treatment. Without giving Rasayana therapy treatment never be completed as per Chikitsa definition given by Caraka
Branko Markovic: What is interesting that even without all treatment before. This is not per classics but from experience of my mentors and myself it is Functioning without all treatment
Vd. Gurumahantesh: In short advice patients to undergo Rutu Shodhana and prescribe Rasayana. And vaidyas forget to practice in the run
2168: Yasti is supposed to cause a person to retain sodium and it also interferes with potassium metabolism. I haven't studied the mechanism but I have seen recommendations in secondary ayurvedic texts to use a low salt and high potassium diet.
As far as how long it takes to build immunity, I think a certain regime of rasayanas might be enough to kill viruses. Take a wide range of antivirals like triphala, manjistha, arjuna, other tree barks like banyan and ashvattha, flowers (rose, agastya, chrstanthemum, etc.).
Immunity itself I think takes a long time to build. How many people never get flus despite no vaccine? How many people rarely if ever get colds? How many rarely cough or even sneeze? Such is one sign of immunity but I think still not enough. As said, the diet that allows one to live for maybe 200+ years I think is the normal diet. Triphala rasayana in its quantity is not recommended without reason. Hominids like chimps get thousands of mg of Vitamin C daily, thousands of mg of calcium from very bitter green leaves (think classical vegetables), etc. Anyone with excess kapha is already immuno-compromised. Anyone that wears glasses, if they are eating the same diet that caused such a condition is already immuno-compromised.
Vd. Sachin Kadlag: For healthy person , following all ideal  rules of  Aachaar Rasayana,  initially doing Shodhana till Puraana Purisha gets out , then it takes 30 days to get complete benefits by Kutipraveshik rasayana , ( Now a days due to lockdown situation is automatically in between Kutipraveshik and Vatatapik conditions) , and then after complete Rasayana again at least 5 to 7 days extra has to follow Aachar Rasayana and Kutipraveshik rules to the maximum level possible , Home quarantine situation in a strong , healthy minded person is a different kind of Kutipraveshik Rasayana /Rejuvenation.
For the persons doing  regular duties and  who are healthy Vatatapik rasayana through out the year to be taken such as in the form of  Rutu haritaki , Only Amalaki , Chyavanprasha , Guduchi ksheerpaaka with cow ghee  ( Remember Ksheer ghruta Abhasa is best Rasayana Charaka sutrasthana 25/40) .
All this medicines should be taken early Morning empty stomach... nothing should be eaten or drunk after that for at least 30 minutes.
In current situation also ideally 40 days period should be told to patients to improve immunity...40 days period is  what I learnt in my college days by My Guru is ideal for Rasayana.  By coincidence it matches with old definition of quarantine period which I think is also 40 days .
Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: विकारो धातुवैषषम्यो।।       What is Vikar(disease)?   Dhatu Vaishmya (inequalibrium) is called Vikara.                                    धातुसाम्यक्रिया चोक्ता तन्त्रस्यास्य प्रयोजनम्।।  The object(Prayojana) of Ayurveda science is the maintenance of equalibrium in Dhatus.                              याभि: क्रियाभिर्जायन्ते शरीरे धातव: समा: । सा चिकित्सा विकाराणां कर्म तद्भिषजां स्मृतम्।।३४।।  Such of the actions as bringing about equalibrium of Dhatus, called Cikitsa(treatment). So purpose of Cikitsa is to bring equalibrium of Dhatus. All Cikitsa do this. After achieving equalibrium of Dhatus, it's also important to maintain its equalibrium and to produce high Quality (Prashasta) Dhatus. High quality Dhatus can be produced only by  Rasayana Cikitsa.   कथन शरीरे धातूनां वैषम्यं न भवेदिति। समानां चानुबन्ध: स्यादित्यर्थ क्रियते क्रिया।।३५।। The purpose of Cikitsa is also to prevent disturbance of the equalibrium of Dhatus and maintain  their equalibrium. This is done by Rasayana Cikitsa- लाभोपायो हि शस्तानां रसादिनां रसायनं।।  Rasayana is therapy by which one gets the Excellence of Dhatus.
2168: opinions about kakamaci? Seems few here regularly use it. It is listed as a vegetable and rasayana in Charaka. In my area, it's available only in the spring. There is a question of glycoalkaloids and possible overuse and as modern medicine would call it toxic effects. Some note to double boil. Still commonly used in Tamil Nadu as are many classical vegetables, dried fruit is available as manathakkali.

Vd. Pritam Bharat Veer:
*Sukshma vyayam*

Sukshma vyayam means _'subtle exercises'._
These are also know as Pawanmuktasana series of exercises. The word _pawan_ means 'wind' or _vata_; _mukta_ means 'release' and _asana_ means 'pose'.
Therefore, Pawanmuktasana means a group of asanas that remove any blockages preventing the free flow of energy in body and mind.
*It should never be ignore and treated casually just because the practices are simple, gentle and comfortable.*
The main components of Sukshma Vyayama are:
1.Your breath
2. A mental concentration point
3. The actual exercise
*Benefits of Sukshma vyayam*
1. Eliminates the energy blockages(vata) in the joint.
2.Improves coordination, balance and self-awareness
3. Opens up all the major joint and relaxes the muscles of the body.
4. Improves the energy flow with in the body and breaks down neuro-muscular knots.
5.Improves endocrine functions.
6.Strengthening ligaments and increasing their elasticity
7.Development of flexibility, plasticity, mobility

8.Increased blood circulation.
9.Immunity strengthening
10.It is a work out for each internal organ.
*It is so sensitive, so powerful, so scientific, so deep and yet so simple.*
*स्वास्थ्यसिद्धी योग*
Vd. Pritam Bharat Veer: *Benefits of stretching and loosening exercises*
*1.Decreases muscle stiffness and increases range of motion.* Stretching helps improve your range of motion, which may also slow the degeneration of your joints.
*2. May reduce your risk of injury.* A flexible muscle is less likely to become injured if you have to make a sudden move. By increasing the range of motion in a particular joint through stretching, you can decrease the resistance on your body’s muscles during various activities.
*3. Helps relieve post-exercise aches and pains.* After a hard workout, stretching your muscles helps keep them loose and lessens the shortening and tightening effect that can lead to post-workout aches and pains.
*4. Improves posture.* Stretching the muscles of the lower back, shoulders and chest helps keep your back in better alignment and improves your posture.
*5.Helps reduce or manage stress.* Well-stretched muscles hold less tension and, therefore, can help you feel less stressed.
*6. Reduces muscular tension and enhances muscular relaxation.*  Chronically tense muscles tend to cut off their own circulation, resulting in a lack of oxygen and essential nutrients. Stretching allows your muscles to relax.
*7. Improves mechanical efficiency and overall functional performance.* Because a flexible joint requires less energy to move through a wider range of motion, a flexible body improves overall performance by creating more energy-efficient movements.
*8. Prepares the body for the stress of exercise.* Stretching prior to exercise allows your muscles to loosen up and become better able to withstand the impact of the activity you choose to do.
*9. Promotes circulation.* Stretching increases blood supply to your muscles and joints, which allows for greater nutrient transportation and improves the circulation of blood through your entire body.
*10. Decreases the risk of low-back pain.* Flexibility in the hamstrings, hip flexors and muscles attached to the pelvis relieves stress on the lumbar spine, which in turn reduces your risk of low-back pain.

Fitness of mind and body. We all are ayurveda / yoga people and we all are aware of different yoga asanas and postures. Pranayam is also very much known to us. Actually we were looking for "something new" then normal.
I cans suggest few Fitness Mantra or Fitness / Happiness actions during lockdown:
- play classic music or songs and dance on it (with or without your partner)
- dance with your pets (dog / cat)
- place a book on your head and walk around the home (dont drop the book)
- play sudoku (good brain exercise)
- cook and explore new taste with household spices and herbs (use only vegetables from your kitchen garden) we can play a game like this. we select one vegetable or herb and everyone can cook or prepare some recipe and share the details about it with all friends.
- Practice sun gazing
- Click nice photos of sunrise, sunset, nature, plants, pets and make little video/ PPT with positive words
Dr. Bhavini Raja: During our childhood we were playing so many indoor games, in busy life we all forgot these, in lockdown period we got time to play all those games with our kids and keep them away from mobile
Ludo, brainvita, chess, Chinese checkers, snacks n ladders, ishto ( it is Gujarati name, sorry I don't know English name ) ,
Making small toys with clay
Carrom board also
Paper craft , drowning n painting
It is really stress relaxant
Branko Markovic: We also play carrom in Croatia!
2902: I found helpful to paint mandalas and meditate on that. regarding activity i am regularly practicing hatha, keeping the asanas longer to release stress and tension. This is also improving sleep quality
Dr. Suresh chatwani: Forward & backward walk. Side walk.
Stepper (1 or 2 steps )on ladder- climb up and go down reverse.
Jogging..jumps
Vd. Pritam Bharat Veer: 1 mile happy walk on YouTube. It's good exercise or workout.

1771: what do you think of taking Kumaryasav and Drakshasav 15 ml with equal water trhice a day to balance good and bad bacteria in our Gut?

Ayulink Ayurveda: But there is no 'Bacteria in Guts' theory in Ayurveda.
Kumaryasava is rasayana and can be good as immuno promoter or antioxident. Goof liver tonic too. Drakshasav is good for digestion, pitta aggravation related problems, mild virechak (purgative). If this information can help you further.
Gut-Brain connection is complex subject. Modern science is still in initial stages of research. If someone wishes to understand Gut-Brain axis or connection, one has to understand Prana Vata - Apana vata connections.
That is CNS and Pelvic Nervous System connection. We had recently discussed this topic (I think last month). You may go for our blog to find all details of last discussion on Gut-Brain connection. It is very interesting. Thank you.

Shri Minoo parabia: Moreover, all our asava and arishtas have yeasts. Perfect source of Vit B 12. Of course I am here supporting our age-old tradition with modern perspective.
Ayulink Ayurveda: Sir, any relation of Vit B 12 with bacteria in Guts? this will be interesting to know
Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: Yes it has relationship
Shri Minoo parabia: Actually gut bacteria do produce Bit B components, which is reabsorbed in the colon.
This vitamin is essential to promote repair mechanism of the body- like reproducing buccal mucosa or skin damage etc.
In absence of this mouth will have Stomatitis
Dr. Pankaj Chhayani: There are many myths regarding Vita 12.
Shri Minoo parabia: So in cases of Stomatitis the supplements are to be given.
Ayulink Ayurveda: I found this on net: Vitamin B12 is produced in nature by certain bacteria, and archaea. It is synthesized by some bacteria in the gut flora in humans and other animals, but humans cannot absorb this as it is made in the colon, downstream from the small intestine, where the absorption of most nutrients occurs.
Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: It's true. Every highly proliferative cells need Vita B12. GI mucosa is highly proliferative so B 12 is needed for proliferation
Shri Minoo parabia: Even when antibiotics are administered, good and bad both kinds of bacteria are lost.
Or in cases of chronic diarrhoea  and constipation.
The "garam padavu" of antibiotics is this reaction of the body
Ayulink Ayurveda: It says Bacteria produce B12. Now in our case, we supply B12 from asava and arishtas. So we are bypassing bacteria's role. Is it so?
Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: I think Asava Arishtas provide appropriate atmosphere for absorption of B12
Shri Minoo parabia: One more thing associated with this is, antibiotics are not to be given with calcium- say milk- as calcium chelates antibiotic molecules, rendering them defunct.
Ayulink Ayurveda: Our basic question is: asava and arishtas are effective on good and bad bacteria in our Gut?
Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: Usually there is no problem in intake of B12(except in pure vegan). Usually problem in B12 absorption. In most of cases of B12 deficiency, there is absorptive problem. Vita B12 absorption is complex.
Ayulink Ayurveda: may be asava and arishta provides good atmosphere to grow bacteria too.
Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: Yes, Asava Arishtas helpful for good bacterias.
Shri Minoo parabia: People living in hygienic conditions loose their gut flora and can never regain it in natural way. They are now a days given capsules containing bacteria, faecal bacteria!
In western world they do faecal transplant!!
Branko Markovic: Indeed, people coming with B12 deficiencies have problem like Sir said problem with loose motion or constipation. But often there is problem also with stomach which manifest and gastritis, swollen tongue and after some time they can develop symptoms like in diabet neuropathy
Ayulink Ayurveda: There are number of theories for Vit B 12 ---- deficiency can occur at any stage out of 4 stages :  production, storage, release during digestion and re-absorption in system -- its complex. But we dont have proper understanding. And just blind folded ask all patients to go for Vit B12 supplements time to time.
Shri Minoo parabia: Asava and Arishtas, may not have direct implications on the gut bacteria but since it improves digestion and adds to the Bit B magnitude, as said earlier, it must help their proliferation. This is my assumption, I don't have any supportive evidence
Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: Causes of B12 deficincy and Ayurveda Treatment.
 1) Achlorhydria- Chitrakadi Vati, Lavana Bhaskar etc.
 2) Pernicious Anemia (autoimmune problem)- Aam Pachana herbs like Pippali, Panchakola, etc....
 3) Panctreatitis:- Shivakshara pachan churna.
4) Bacterial Overgrowth:- Krimighna dravya like Vidanga etc...
5) Absorptive problems:- Asava Arishtas....
Branko Markovic: There is also supplements based on yeast which are you mainly fro B12
Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: People who consume Ghee and Milk daily never get B12 deficincy due to lack of intake.
Ayulink Ayurveda: this is new. Ghee and milk for B12 ?
Branko Markovic: Yes indeed!
Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: Modern drs are spreding false info regarding B12. If pts ask what should I do to maintain my B12? How can I avoid injection of B12?   Drs always reply u will have to take injections if u don't want then u have to eat NonVeg... If it's  true then all vegetarian should get B12 deficiency
Branko Markovic: All dairy products actually
Ayulink Ayurveda: Dear Branco, I know you love ghee very much. Croatia dont have good ghee, but you produce very good cow ghee. But I am not aware that ghee or dairy products can be useful for B12 deficiency.
Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: Ghee, Milk, meat etc
Ayulink Ayurveda: I think they say curd - dahi or yogurt is good for B12.
Branko Markovic: Lassi or takra I think is better for gut and it will benefite B12
Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: In majority of cases, there is no problem related dietary intake. In Most of cases ,real problem is defective absorption.
Shri Minoo parabia: I remember good old days, when yeast tablets were sold 25 for a Rupee!
Family doctor would freely distribute to the patients.
All alcohol factories used to make yeast tablets as their by product.
Under the pretext of unstandardized product the MNCs got it banned.
Be careful, many of our herbal products can meet with similar fate.
Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: Takra Basti
Branko Markovic: Yeah in whole Eu is not the same as in India..but lot of my veg friend who eat diary products don’t have any B12 deficiency
Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: I have some pts who got cured with Snehana therapy only
Ayulink Ayurveda: innovative idea.some day share more details of it...if you have applied in patients. Not now..but someday sure we will discuss on this.
Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: Sure... B12 is curable with Ayurveda. 110%
Branko Markovic: B12 is essential for enzymes and for hemoglobin and for absorption it body need to absorb deceit intrinsic factor. There is also one protein in saliva which binds B12 and transports it through acidic stomach into the ileum where it should be absorbed.
