Next topic for discussion:Management of Bronchial Asthma according to Ayurveda
Dr. Dhruti Kagrana: Asthma is a condition in which your airways narrow and swell and produce extra mucus. This can make breathing difficult and trigger coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath.
An attack could be triggered due to allergic reactions to irritants, or some other triggers or stimuli like dust, smoke, fumes or chemical allergens like pollen, grass.
According to ‘The Complete Book of Ayurvedic Home Remedies’ by Dr. Vasant Lad, “The underlying cause of all asthmatic conditions is increased Kapha dosha in stomach. From there it moves into the lungs , trachea and bronchi. The increased kapha blocks the natural flow of air, creating spasm in the bronchial tree and resulting in asthma and wheezing.

Dr. Bhavini Raja: Shrung bhasma ..which pharma?
Dr. Arjun Mehta: I write this with my own personal experience.
I am based out of Germany and usually get severe Asthma in late June and July since I moved here in 2008. I am very fit and do yoga, swimming and cycling regularly but It seems that I was allergic to some kind of pollen.
I had to use strong steroid based Inhalers to get relief. Usually in June I used to get a dry cough and within a couple of days would have severe coughing  spasms and severe construction of my bronchial  pipes.

In November 2017 I started regular pranayam for about 15 mins everyday. And in mid June 2018 I did a week long kitchri based fast, and after that generally ate a little less.
In 2018 my asthma was very mild and i continued the same routine in 2919 and again my asthma was almost gone!
I plan continue the same regimen this year and I hopeful that the results will be better.
Dr. Shahil H Bhavsar: Karnvedhan in dev krut chhidra for asthma i.e. tamak shawas is practiced nowadays.
Different needles are used for that.
-gold
-silver
-tamra
Etc.

Than a clean thread is tied around the hole.
Dr. Arvind Shahane: ASFA surat
Vd. Pritam Bharat Veer: Not possible
2168: Is all of this just management? It is possible to cure asthma. Why are people not asking how?
Dr. Sujata Guha: I have been cured of asthma with such treatments.  For several years I was fine but it did come back too.
To remain Arogya, One has to maintain ahar, vihar and achar
2168: Some say as such yet I always wonder who understands ahar. E.g. We do not often hear of people like rishis living past 200. All that is said and written by modern practitioners does not follow classical texts. Who is saying to the entire world foods such as amalaki haritaki bilva amrataka etc should be regularly taken. And so forth.

We are aware of what is happening in the world. And what happens often such as zika ebola etc. Are we not always discussing simple problems and not concentrating on the well being of the world? Treatment of all conditions seems possible if we strictly followed classical texts, interpreted them properly, avoid modern foods without rasa like what everyone eats, okra cauliflower bitter gourd methi taro potato etc.. All not traditional foods. And like the old rishis, when traveling, learning of the plants of the area, e.g  how many live outside of India without visiting the fields mountains forests etc of where they live to find the best plants. Or studying knowledge of such. Everyone is trying to make a living trying to save for retirement, have a place to live, feed their family, etc. As such the spirit of the rishis and siddhas seems to be gone and the world's problems that should be simple, no one has an answer, few if any have a lifetime of experience with all the plants that grow around them or enough of the important ones in classical texts.
Ayulink Ayurveda: That is the secret. Continues efforts are needed....medicines are not the only matters.
Famous proverb in Guajarti "Davathi saja kari shakay, saja rakhi na sakay".
Means, one can cure somebody with medicies, but can not keep him cued with medicines for long.
Asthma care or managemen invloves multiple factors. Aahar and Aushadh are much discussed all the time. But vihar - vichar - psychology factors are importantt to address, where I think we practitioner cant focus more. Patient is not with us for long time. As and when he gets some relief with medicines and diet instruction, he will stop visiting ayureda doctor. Recurrence can be there because of not enough changes in vihar - vichar and psychology.
Dr. Suresh chatwani: Vichar shudhhi will be most difficult to achieve. Even Mind set of Practioners is important in treatment.
Dr. Manshukh Mangakiya: Patients do not give credits to Ayurveda practice ,even cured with Ayurveda medicine. When the patient get result , give up Ayurveda medicines and do and don't before Sansrankarma ( apunarbhav chikitsa ), reappear sign and symptoms of the disease.
Dr. Sushant Patil: If diagnosis is at perfect level even at Ayurveda and with help of modern or either of both then they can give credit , it's experience of mine.
But if we or our people stressed on on treated or Drugs what others are following and what exactly formulations of successful Vaidya  it is based in Definition of Quacks according to Charak .
2168: Well said. As most talk only about herbs and do not see the entirety of the self and the entirety of a person's ways and diet affecting all things of mind and body, it is difficult for me to take many seriously.
Even when people talk about philosophy, the Gita or upanishads, vedanta, yoga and so forth it is without awareness that there are entire non-samkya ways of thinking like the vedas or Kashmir Shaivism. Everything people believe only from suffering and conquering emotions is lacking.
