Next topic for discussion: Use of Jamun (Syzygium Cumini) according to Ayurveda
Vd. Jignesh
Thakkar: Jumun seed powder is being used
extensively in madhuprameh. personally I felt that this is useful but should be
avoided in shit rutu. Because it causes dryness in body. At the same time I
feel it should be avoided in constipated patient . As kashay ras of jamu causes
more stambhan. Others observation may be different. I have observed only small
number of patient with jambu.
There is a said in gujarati that
"એની માં એ જાંબુ ખાધા એટલે કાળો મેશ" Means
probably his mother had consumed jambu during pregnancy that is why see is
black .According to Ayurveda " जाम्बवः वतजनानानं"
Means jambu is on top amongst vat
creating fruits. When vata is vitated during pregnancy the feotus will get
black colour that is another ayurveda principal. So the said may be because of
this hypothesis ..I think this fruit should be avoided during pregnancy.
Dr.
Shantanandkumar: Don't drink milk
after eating Jambu.
