Shahil H Bhavsar: Pratyatma laxan of jwara is absence of sweating. Drugs like Paracetamol cause sweating and decrease the temperature of body
Dr. Siva Kumar: Aswedana leads to kushta
Ayulink: Hyper hydrosis is also a condition of excessive sweating
Gary Yuen: Is this correct? That it is a disorder of samanavata and pacakapitta and the condition of excess is abhisyanda. In those cases, tiktarasa seems correct. Yava is frequently mentioned in various purifications in dharmasastras, maybe less in ayurvedic texts, though I think it is as important as sastras suggest.
Dr. Madhuri Patil Chaudhari: Abhishyand is due to sticky or Stayn Kapha or Saamata, and all Samshaman dravyas are Tikta ras pradhan. Aakash +Agni= tikta. Of all ras dravya , tikta ras pradhan  are one which keep Strotasas free from obstructive pathology starting due to Abhishyand. Yav is mentioned in Charak. Roukshyakar, as opposite to Snigdha, Roukshata that increases Vayu, and consequently Agni too. As per Aetarey upanishad, among mahabhutas, Vayu 1st Which,  due to something like gaseous pressure, Causes Agni to be manifested. From Agni, Jal, Like evaporation of water from osceans  cause Clouds and Rains,..Water cause of Prithvi, Solidification over time to manifest as Prithvi. So whenever Agni  is Manda,  Vata needs to be proper or increased a bit by Tika Ras, which will cause increase in Agni. So Titka Ras Best for  Organs (liver, uterus, intestines, even brain with Ventricular spaces)which need interstitial spaces or intercellular spaces in proper status , to function normally. And lymphatic channels, too, From where Aam conditions start
Gary Yuen: The first mention of sweat in Caraka is su5 and friction or scrubbing. Is there some state of the skin that could cause it to not sweat per normal?
Dr. Madhuri Patil Chaudhari: Sweat is Mal rup of MedoDhatuAgni kriya. In Medorog, too much Malrup Sweat is produced so less of Saarbhut products, which forms Asthi dhatu. So in Medorog, Asthidhatu and subsequent Dhatus don't form as required. Too much sweat is Maladhikya, Maladhyata, increase in Sweat as also other KhaMala like on Teeth or eyes or ears or smegma, one of purvarup of Prameh. Not sweating is an indication again of MedoDhatu agni less, as in Hypothyroidism or Anhydrosis, Or NavJwar, An indication of strotasAvrodha.esp. Udakvah  strotas,  Kled vikruti. Udvartan dravyas may cause less sweating too. VatKaph pradhan prakruti and Less of MedoDhatuSaar persons,  sweat less than other Prakruti Normally.
Dr. Rachana Mumbai: One patient of age 55yrs came to me with c/o excessive sweating  patient was diabetic and on regular medication his sugar was under control  H/o working in Dubai for minimum 25 to 30 yrs where he had to stay all the time in air conditioned room  In this what could be the reason of excessive sweating
Dr. Madhuri Patil Chaudhari: Again too much Kled, Too much sweating. And Swedan or sweating contraindicated in Madhumeh, as Dhatus already Dushit with tridosha, sweating causing more Dhatukshay, So  Roukshykar  Udvartan is best  chikitsa. Atisthouly also causes more sweating. Sthulata, Gauravata Jal mahabht too much . Less MedoDhatvagni.  If AC environment in long term causes impairment in normal sweating or vikruti of Udakvah strotas is  Matter to research. Body gets Satmya to artificial environment. Then Why to follow Rutucharya, may be a question. But temperature difference too much and sudden cause effect on Immunity. One of the reasons for Vat vitiation.extreme temperature differences .
Dr. Jaya Sambhus: Sometimes excessive sweating is sign of moving dosha ( from shakha to kosth gati )  Eg. Sweating before  vaman
Dr. Siva Kumar: Sweating is seen in malaria wch give Rise to chills
Vd. Gurumahantesh: I think swedana due to shaithilya of many dhatu.
Ayulink: Any internal medicine to control excessive sweating? Or to stop foul smell of sweat?
Dr Jayesh Patel: Nagkesar churn for  excessive sweat & ushirasav for foul smell ....
Ayulink: Do you give it in capsule form or just powder? Dose?
Vd. Gurumahantesh: Even i have seen giving pancha tikta ghruta guggulu for ati sweda
Dr. Kalpesh Vani: I use medopachak and arogyavardhini for atiswed as relation between med dhatu and swed
Ayulink: Does arogyavardhini works? Dose?
Dr. Kalpesh Vani: Yes it works. 250mg vyonodane
Ayulink: My choice of herbs are jambu bij churna, mango seed (Amra Fali - gotli) churna and Lodhrasav. All are mentioned as sveda stambhak in books
Vd. sandeep Ahirkar: Kamdudha, lodhra beneficial shatawari kalp in atiswed
Vd. Hardik bhatt: Mahasudarshan churn for excessive sweating ...
Ayulink: Hyper hydrosis is common complain, where patient have excessive perspiration in palms and soles of the feet. I usually prefer to go with Virechana karma. And it works very fast. Internal medicine can take months to cure. But virechana can give the same result in just 10 days. Diet control is also very important factor.
Vd. Pritam Bharat Veer: Foul smell is only bcz of dusht med dhatu. Medohar dravyas for external application as well as you can give ubtan. Medopachak vati or powder can be given internally. In such cases we can give ushirasaw , i too found good results of it. It's pitta and rakt drushti.  Drav gun of pitta is increased. So excessive sweat.
Vd. sandeep Ahirkar: Sweda gandha comes under prameha poorvaroopa also so accordingly we can treat
Vd. Dhruti Nirav Bhatt: Sweda or perspiration as symptoms we can see in Pre Menopause in women, Cardiac disease, Bronchitis, severe dry coughing,  Obesity, Hypothyroidism. In Pitta Prakruti Patient.
Dr. Misbah suhana: Neem capsules are also helpful in sweating with foul smell
Dr.Ravibhusan S Sonawale: Daily Udavartan may helpful
Vd. Dhruti Nirav Bhatt: For foul smell due to excessive sweting
 1. Apply paste of Haritaki,Lodhra,Bark of Mango tree,Jamun leaves, Ushir.
2. Apply Bilva patra swaras  in body.
3. Ushir, Raktchandan, Arjun churna,Vasa chinta,Shankh Bhasma paste.
Dr. Vikas Sharma Punjab: Shirish decoction usefull to reduce swedan. Locally we can use ash of dhatura to stop swedan instently
Dr. Siva Kumar: All over the body?
62849: Seeds/leaves?
Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: Perspiration is part of temperature regulation. When core temperature declines , it stimulate sympathetic nervous system. SNS causes perspiration. Perspiration also caused by after heavy meal, especially high protein diet. All shita dravyas darvyas directly/indirectly supress perspiration. Ushira is very good among these dravyas
Dr.Piyush Dodiwadiya: Practically Are there patient who complain about excessive sweating?
Dr. Vikas Sharma Punjab: Yes all over the body- Seed  Dhatura seed ash use in perspiration during myocardiac infarction.effect like a antihistaminic.apply and rub on whole body.
Dr. Siva Kumar: Mechanism of sweating...!
Ayulink: Is it Anubhut or from the books? New to know. Thnx
Yes. Many. I have treated many patients of hyper hydrosis. They complain a lot abt excessive sweating in palms and soles. You can see their footprint on floor. Such patients need to wear rubber slippers all the time. Many of them have excessive sweating in palms. They start sweating, even if they hold a pen or cup or hand nepkin for a short time - less then a minute.
Croatia Branko Markovic: How much is this related to fear or other psychological disorders?
Ayulink: Fear can produce sweat. But hyper hydrosis is not connected with fear or any psychology. It is just physical problem
Croatia Branko Markovic: Ok Tnx. but the question was more how much sweating on palms especially is related to psychological problems?
Vd. Pritam Bharat Veer: Not usually
Croatia Branko Markovic: I had few friends who had a lot of fears and they had always or very often sweaty palms..maybe it is not related directly..just asking..
Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: Fears leads FIGHT or FLIGHT response and subsequently Sympathetic nervous system activates and increase perspiration
Shri Minoo parabia: Adrenalin surge
Dr. Anup Torane: Late but important musta churn udvrtan for ubhay hast padtal Swed n abhyantar laghusutshekhar, dhatri Nisha, navak Guggul, paripathadi kwath
Gary Yuen: In absence of real danger, it is possibly more common in social situations. Would that be unmada?
Ayulink: Has anybody treated any patient of asweda? No sweating at all in any condition? This is serious condition. In my 30+ years of practice I have 2-3 patients of no sweating. We have tried with all possible procedures and medicines. Steam bath in hot summer of ahmedabad, hot decoctions etc. But nothing worked out. Both were young women in her forties.  Once I was informed by some senior doc that no sweating in very serious condition and such patients don't live longer. I am not sure for this. But in reality my both patient died in her forties. One lady was having intestinal adenoids. And other was having general pitta -vata complaints. I did virechana and basti karma treatment too - for more then once. Time being symptoms were subsided. During all Panchkarma and other treatments sweat was produced very little, almost negligible. This might be coincidence, but I now believe that no sweating is more worrying condition.
Gary Yuen: Any ideas what you think might the cause? In texts i can only find panduroga.
Ayulink: Not exactly. That's why I want to share my experience here with all friends.
Gary Yuen: I'm not sure what it is called by modern terminology. Maybe anhidrosis or hypohidrosis. Can't find many articles though this may help think about the cause. Could it be a secondary symptom of some other condition? Approach to hypohidrosis
Ayulink: Yes. It might be possible as secondary symptoms. But I didn't get enough reference. This is now quite old cases for me. I think I have treated them before 12 & 15 years respectively
Dr. Vikas Sharma Punjab: असवेदन व्याधि वात व्याधि अधिकार में ही आती हैं।according to my view this is a condition of atonicity of muscle.I think we can compare this condition with urustambh vyadhi.
Shri Minoo parabia: Serious indeed. Toxicity accumulates
Vd. Hardik bhatt: Bilva Patra churn utsadan is also useful for foul smell from body or prespiration.
