Vd. Sachin Kadlag: Yes, Green chillies when consumed are cause of piles , specially of  bleeding piles (Sravi arsha ).
Croatia Branko Markovic: Any classical reference? Before chillies wore not native to India?
Vd. Sachin Kadlag: While cooking if we use cut pieces of green chillies in mild to moderate quantity , and remove them while eating , then it doesn't harm that much. But grinded green chillies used in cooking , is consumed completely ,hence it is more harmful

France Lata Luxmee: Are green chillies good for liver and heart. And red chillies are more harmful
Dr. Pulkit Baxi: I think as it contain Ushn tikshn gunas. Helpful for DIGESTION nd blood purification
Vd. Sachin Kadlag: Seeds of the grinded  green chillies are also responsible for pittaja atisaara .

Vd. Sachin Kadlag: Red chillie powder if used less, then is less harmful compared to green chillie

Vd. Sachin Kadlag: While using green chillie , in Maharashtra , there are found two main varieties in market , one is of small length and is more ancient compared to long one . Shorter is more spicy and hence to be consumed in small quantity.  The longer one is less spicy and less harmful , and is  eaten in  fried and salted form for taste with snacks .  but regular eating causes raktavaha srotas dushti and can be cause of urdhwaga as well as adhoga raktapitta.
Ayulink Ayurveda: in texts, when it is mentioned for trikatu, pippali, trijat etc for spices to develope katu ras. can u share more details on it
Vd. Sachin Kadlag: Both the chillies if are consumed recurrently in large quantity can result in ulceration in mouth and all GI tract specially gastric and peptic ulcers.
France Lata Luxmee: Good for pain  due to polyarthrite rhumatoïde,arthritis ,  psoriasis, zone and  auxpains caused to nerves   due to diabète .  Ia this debatable ?
People in South india dont get any health issues even they eat too hot chillies ....why? Is it because they take dahi  or yoghurt?
Dr. Pulkit Baxi: I THINK BHOJAN  RUCHIKARAK  AS SALIVATION START AFTER EATING OF CHILI. NO REFFERENCE JUST EXPERIENCE.
Vd. Sachin Kadlag: While eating regular chillies , there must be accompanied  cow ghee in proper proportion to avoid vitiation of pitta.
Dr. Pulkit Baxi: Of course balance diet needed.
Vd. Sachin Kadlag: Yashtimadhu 250 mg to 500 mg  with  5 gm ghee is one of the best remedy for treatment of complications due to excess use of chillies.
Dr. Sharada SY: Here in Karnataka we also have varieties of chilly...in green chilly da small one is considered to be having best medicinal value...though spicy while eating its not harmful to the body like long type of green chilly

Dr. Pulkit Baxi: As kapha dosha having guna like -  Snigdh  shit GURU mand shlakshn sandra etc. Chili having exact  opposite gunas . So  useful in Kaphaj vikaras
Dr. dhananjay Bairagi: There is contain called polysachhin in it, useful for burning sensation
Ayulink Ayurveda: I remember, somewhere I have read that Shushrut was using red chilly powder before cataract treatment...to create kshubdhata. but I am not sure, it was red chilliy powder

Croatia Branko Markovic: In EU it is used mostly during winter time..we have many varaity of pepper and chillies..but the problem is people are using that along with Pitta increasing food and alchol etc..

Ayulink Ayurveda: Locally it is mentioned as lekhan, vat har and nidrajanan. somewhere it is mentioned as aphrodisiac too?
Croatia Branko Markovic: Think aphrodisiac could be but nidrajanana. If there is no much snigda in body then I think it is quite problematic for Vata do to tikshna, ushna, ruksha..
Ayulink Ayurveda: It is used mostly as pain killer capsicin oil. most pain killer ointments or liniments are having capsicin as major ingredient...it is known as counter irritant. also smoke - dhoompan of chilli is used for shwas - kas (respiratory disorders)

Dr. Uday H. Hanagal: Green      Chillies      contraindicated      in     Pittaja      Vyadhies      Kamala  ,   Visarpa    etc     here     in     some      condition     atyalpa     red    chilli    can      be     used
