Next topic for discussion:  :  Dasamula.....Most common #Ayurveda formula

Shri Minoo parabia: Since Dashmool have become rare commodity Gujarat state medicinal plants board had proposed a project of Rs.6.5 Crores to the centre. Under the scheme plantation is under taken by the Valsad forest division. Similarly 8 Crores are invested for Seed propagated Guggulu plantation in kachchh. Instead only roots panchang for laghumoola are used.
This is a point of information for the like minded friends.

Dr. Prerak Shah: Sir,can you inform us that Out of 10 roots, how many are not available? or genuinely used in formula? and which are the substitutes used in marketable product? Thnx

Shri Minoo parabia: I personally recommend use of freshly prepared decoction of Dashmool. Post partem use is highly recommended. Patla, prishnaparni, brihati are not available. Even for other Guru moola, stem bark instead of root bark is used. Surprising fact is even after this undue liberties, drug works. Substitutes are arbitrarily selected and added or pharmacy uses its on discretion….No standardization exist.

Vd. Tapan: They are working on the effect of the leaves of Dashmool to compare it with mool. They call it Dashpatra

Dr. Bhadresh Naik: Why rishimuni select only ten herbsmul is interesting
Each molecules are play role on efficacy and make chemical reaction…….Any research taken place on any perticular mode of action taking place without any one is not available

Vd. Piyush Prajapati: When we should use laghu panchmula and brihat panchmula??  Any idea ??

Dr. Prerak Shah: I prefer to use dashamularishta more in practice. Particularly in low BP case it gives me good result in 10 min.

Dr. Suyog Kulkarni: I use Dashamoola in Ghanavati form with promising results.

Vd. Ketan bhimani: TV Advt of dashmularist is acting by juhi chavla.  Dabur dashmularist . M2 tone of charak pharma is same as dashmularist. ... For pre menopausal age. In symptoms like gabhraman, chakkar (vertigo), muscular pain, deficiency of B12 n vitamins, sarvang vat prakop, vichar vayu etc.

Vd. Dhruti Nirav Bhatt: Dashmool kwath is very useful in Vatvyadhi and Menstruration realated problems I use in Dysmenorrhea

Vd. Ketan bhimani: Qwath with sunthi and erand Sneha is best for oligo menstruation. Which Leeds to obesity.

Dr. Devesh Kumar: Dashmoolaristha can b used in kaph vat Jawara or in the viral etiology

Vd. Ketan bhimani: Vayu ~ viral. ~  unknown pathogenesis.

Dr. Devesh Kumar: Yes but in present seasons getting so many pt of Jawara (fever) so…….This is season of kapha utklesha so kaph vata Jawara treatment I used to give dashmoolaristha with sudarshan vati

Vd. Ketan bhimani: This time is for dry vayu = pankhar = bhur vayu. Best for wheat as to dry.

Dr. Prerak Shah: I serve Dasamularishta as "AYURVEDA WINE" to my all overseas patients, students and business associates...and they love it....
Shri Minoo parabia: Of course all our Asavas and Arishtas are medicated wines of superb order, if prepared well. I salute my ancient mentors. Yeast is the best source of Vit B. Little wonder it is useful for vit b deficiency. Nice point worth noting.

Dr. Bhadresh Naik: Seasonal wines is best hygenic property to avoid alcohol abuse complications…….I used dashmularist…….Draxasav for addictive alcohol person……It's make no alcohol withdrawal symptoms………Make patients happy even to family members

Dr. Prerak Shah: Minoo Sir, Can we give any our asav and arishta for vit B deficiency? How much it will be effective? and how fast? Does it contain good amount of Vit B?

Vd. Kundan Gadhavi: in sandhivat, obese pt, aft delivery dashmoola fresh decoction, dashmoolarisht in IHD, angina works good along with arjuna ,abhrak etc…our sir Dr S N Gupta sir giving it in all pt of IHD

Dr. Bhadresh Naik: B12 deficiency is good debut……….Angnimadya is only reason for b12 deficiency………..Absorption of nutrients substance lead to deficiency…….Dipan, Pachan, Liver tonic, Rasayan chikista make different, Leacy gut syndromes please refer

Vd. Kundan Gadhavi: yes our asav preparation are good source of B12

Dr. Bhadresh Naik: Why? How it's act? Please clarify
Not even b12, Anemia, Calcium, All nutrients deficiency lead to agnimandya

Vd. Kundan Gadhavi: as sir u said above asav will do dipan-pachan ,correct agnimandya, increase absorption ,and yeast forming food make absorption better

Shri Minoo parabia: Yeas, as I said is a good source for vegetarians. I remember our family doctor giving us a fist full of yeast tablets whenever we complained of stomatitis. The cost was Re 1 for 25 tablets. The best therepy for poors. Then the worshippers of standardization opposed this. Obviously, who will buy their costly supplements. The yeast tablets are banned. All our alcohol factories made industrial alcohol from molasses of sugar factories. Slurry left after fermentation is rich in yeast. Now such valuable resource is going to the drains and poors are deprived of cheap inexpensive medicine.  Fortunately our asava and Arishtas are brewed but not distilled (Sura). So yeast are very much present in all. Yeast is a fungus present in many of natural nectar like Dhataki and Mahuva flowers. They are used as fermentation initiators.  So, Prerakbhai,  one can use any, nearly useful to the other symptoms of disorders.

Dr. Arun Tiwari: But there is a difference asav and arisht . Yeasts will less in arisht then asvas.

Vd. Kundan Gadhavi: yes, bcoz in arishth decoction is made prior fomentation

Dr. Sumita Jaiswal: I use to give dasamularista along with devdarvyadi kwath to d post delivery women complaining of back pain cause of vata vriddhi....excellent results…….Would love to know abt d uses n types of uses of dasamula kwath churna

Dr. Arun Tiwari: In ayurved anupan concept charak described 84 asvas…… asvas must take as anupanam………..Second best anupan is milk………Hence I can say in amadosh should take asavas as anupanam and in pitt doshas milk. In market there is not a single pharma have pure  dashmul kwath. If you want pure then collect ingredient yourself.

Germany Helga Fuchs: Dhashmool with other substances up to strenght of pt for Basti. ((cleaning)

Vd. Manhar Prajapati: Dashmool is vatkahp nasak so can use in asthma inflammation obesity after preg..or vatvaydhi...and good relief in insomia also by dashmoolaristha

Vd. Ketan bhimani: Dashmul qwath processed with boiled milk gives quick pain relieving result. Thats translation of above post in sanskrit

Dr. Chirag Dobariya: Not all pain but only vatarakta pain relieving

Vd. Bhavesh Thakkar: We all know and use dashmul kwath in vat roga, along with ernada (Castor oil) in ama vata …..But dashmul kwath is good in hridrog if used alOng with yavakshara and saidhava…….All kwath should be used with praxepaka dravyas. Prakshepaka should be used as per rogadhikara. Same kwath is said to use in different roga with different Prakshepaka……….I.e. dashmul kwath + erand sneha - ama vata………..Dashmul kwath + sunthi- sarvang vat………..Dashmul kwath + yavakdhara + saidhava - hridrog, gulma

Vd.Atul Ambadkar: Dashmul well known  vataghna ....Yes it is but also according Charak ...Its well shothahar ( i.e.Reliving swelling/inflammation.)

Vd. Ketan bhimani: But now the time to develop ghan satva as ghanvati instead of qwath. ...... Right ????

USA Umangi Patel: But question is same effective????

Vd. Piyush Prajapati: More effective

Vd. Ketan bhimani: Ghanvati may desolve in warmed boiled water easily and act as qwath.

Vd. Bhavesh Thakkar: Dashmul ghan is available.  It is been many years practice now in south that they are using kwatham tablets. Most of the kwath now a days come in tablet form. Dr. Ravindra Upadhyay: anything related to pain, inflammation, avarodh, udavarta, Dashamool is the drug of choice.

Dr. Bhavesh Modh: Dashamul, is a very famous ayurvedic combination of ten roots.  It is a standard medicine for inflammatory conditions.  It is a collection of ten roots viz. 1. Aegle marmelos (Bilwa), 2.Premnain tegrifolia (Agnimantha), 3.Oroxylum indicum  (Shyonaka), 4.Stereospermum suaveolens (Patla) ,5. Gmelina arborea (Kashmiri), 6.Desmodium indicum (Shaliparni), 7.Urari alagopoides (Prishniparni),  8.Solanum indicum (Brahati), 9.Solanum xanthocarpum (Kantkari)  10Tribulus terrestris (Gokshura). Take roots no.of 1 to 5 & whole plants (पंचांग ) 6 to 7
This combination is useful especially for Vata vyadhi. This combination is used as a standard Ayurvedic therapy for inflammatory disorders and to reduce pain and fever associated with it.  Dashmul can be used a possible alternative to Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) which are used in allopath for treatment of inflammatory conditions. Its anti-inflammatory action is comparable to Diclofenac sodium both in acute and chronic cases.

Now, we discuss about some important medicinal uses and benefits of Dasamoolarishtam. Use of Dasamoolarishtam in Postpartum period
In ayurveda, Dasamoolarishtam is an important medicine used in the management of all postpartum complications. Its regular use after delivery has following benefits.
1. Loss of appetite: In most cases, loss of appetite and indigestion occur after delivery. Due to its digestive stimulant property, Dashmularishta improves appetite and helps treating indigestion in postpartum period.
2. Postpartum Fever: Some women also suffer from fever, which can be low-grade and high grade. Dasamoolarishtam is beneficial in both types. In acute fever, Dashmularishta helps fighting off infectious microbes and decreases the intensity of symptoms such as restlessness, headache, discharges, pain, etc. Please note
patient may require other medicines to fight off the infection. Nowadays, antibiotics are used. In ancient India, dasamoolarishtam and madhurantak vati, praval pishti were only available options.
3. Postpartum diarrhoea and IBS: However, it is very rare, but some women develop diarrhoea or IBS after delivery. In such condition, Dasamoolarishtam alone can help due to its mild astringent action.

the delivery, it provides relief from pain, physical stress and supports joints, muscles and ligaments.

If it is started immediately after delivery, it reduces about 90% health problems that may occur in postpartum period or thereafter.
