I did my thesis on the effect of jaladhara on tension type headache ( vatika shirahshula).... I used to do jaladhara with tap dhara, procedural effect is more beneficial than the effect of medicines.. The relaxation effect which was measured by biofeedback instruments shows that jaladhara is equally effective as we can use chandan, aamla, yastimadhu, rose water plain water in our practice so psychologically pt.feels better....we can give excellent results with less charges of shirodhara... Even I have used coconut one sitting 4-5 tarofa with water is needed.... Can use it only for one sitting...
Dr. Bhadresh Naik: Lots of debut on how many sirodhara can given Daily, Alternative, Once a week, Kindly guide and suggests, Efficacy may variable, Similar to basti treatment, Clarification of confusion, Thanks
Vd. Devangi Jogal Surat: We should do shirodhara for at least   7-8 sittings and maximum 21 days...1,2,3 sittings can give good effect for few days only...for long term benefits... We should continue shirodhara for at least 7-8 chronic conditions we can repeat every month for 7days.... For continuous 3 months... Time should be 20 to 40 mins...

Dr. Meghdoot Satvekar:
Dr. Dipak Shirude: That is one of the causes of headache. Hyper emotions tend to aggravation of vata. And vata is responsible for शिर:शूल i.e. headache.
So to control emotions is to control vata.

Dr. Sheetal Sumra: Headache according to ayurveda is cause due to all three Dosha..  And even mental status is also responsible for headache. As we had entered in Vasant rutu (spring). ….In winters our pachak agni is high so we eat lots of sweets, heavy food so due to all this aama get accumulated in body.  ….In spring all this toxins material melts which blocks mahashrotas (channels) in our body which leads to various diseases one is which is shirshool.

Vd. Kinshuk Hirpara: My father( Vd pravin hirpara ) he used to give patients with headache godanti with ghee and sakar early morning.  And I can Co relate it with…Calcium is known to have anti-spasmodic action, which helps alleviate headaches and migraines. However, studies have shown that when calcium is administered along with Vitamin D, it reduces the frequency of migraines in a considerable number of patients……In my personal practice I also added anti oxidants more in their diet. Which have mild vitamin C. Because of pitta aggregation sometimes. So fruits ( but not too much sour) can be taken like apples and grapes (sweet)……. Avoiding garlic and tomatoes but blood pressure also should be measured . High BP diet is different and low BP diet is totally opposite. N headache is the most common symptom of both.
Dr. Arvind panchal: Many times I see the cause of headaches is pitta...bilious...headache...So I prefer to treat pitta...if there is no other cause...
Vd. Kundan Gadhavi: headache causative factor……irregular diet-sleeping pattern , I.e. ratrijagaran, day sleep, excess intake of fast food, excessive fasting, hypoglycemia - it is told in ayurveda that a person should not keep gap more than 6 hrs between 2 meal, seasonal changes-rutu sandhi, post viral infection, alcohol, smoking,  excess intake of coffee, excessively watching TV ,poor ventilation and less oxygenated environment, vegavadharan-suppression of natural urges etc….. headache due to any disease………..CVD,HTN, hypotension, atherosclerosis, aneurysm, endocrinal disease , allergic disease, chronic sinusitis, infection like T.B meningitis, otitis media, trauma, encephalitis etc………according to cause we have to decide treatment…...which broadly can be categorised as, mechanical factor, chemical factor, neurogenic factor, psychogenic factor…………….treatment : pathyadi kwath, sootshekhar rasa, laxmivilas rasa, brahmi vatee, medhya rasayan, godanti are treatment
Vd. Manahar Prajapati: नित्य स्नेहआदृ शिरसः शिरशूलं न जायते days we avoided hair oil it is also reason for headache mostly vatik shirshool tension headache...
