Today's topic for discussion: Role of Sadhak Pitta in diseases
Dr. Hardik- MD: Charak
maharshi has mentioned in pandu roga, hradayasth pitta is spread in all over
body by vata
Vd. Dhruti Kagrana: The sadhaka pitta connects the heart and mind together
so that the two can communicate with each other. Sadhaka pitta dwells in the
heart and the brain, and includes the nervous system and the senses. The
sadhaka pitta has an inward movement, which essentially sorts out our external
experiences into an internal ‘felt’ experience. It distinguishes truth and
reality from the information from the senses.
The sadhaka pitta helps us
fulfill both our material and spiritual goals in life.
In anatomical terms, the
sadhaka pitta subdosha includes the neuro-transmitters responsible for dopamine
and serotonin. It is responsible for homeostasis (regulating body temperature)
and regulating the hypothalamus (which controls important hormones and the
nervous system) in the brain. An
unbalanced sadhaka pitta essentially means umbalanced hormones.
Inside the
heart, according to Ayurveda, there are two main energies
– agni (sun energy) and soma (lunar energy). These need to be kept in
balance. If agni is too strong, through emotional and mental stress, it will
burn away soma, and lead to reduced ojas, or vitality. Like our agni,
sadhaka pitta is an internal “fire” that mentally “cooks” our experiences for
us. If it’s too low, our experiences will take a long time for us to come to
terms with. If the sadhaka pitta fire is too high, it can explode and makes a
person behave in crazy, irrational ways.
When your sadhaka pitta is
in balance, you will feel blissful. You will have a balanced, even temperament.
When your sadhaka pitta is out of balance, due to emotional stress or excess
pitta, you will experience wild mood swings, from irritability to moodiness to
anger, and to sadness. You may also have pitta-style depression, which includes
being domineering, controlling, intolerant, critical (of self and others),
intolerant and having the inability to concentrate. It may affect your
relationships. There may also be pitta insomnia (waking up early in the morning
with lots of energy), or inflammatory conditions, such as allergies, dermatitis,
heartburn or diarrhoea. The sadhaka pitta can be especially out of balance for
women during menopause – resulting in the characteristics wild mood swings and
hot flushes.
Vd. Bhavesh Thakkar: Exceptional interpretation..! Pranam.
Vd. Prerak Shah: Practically
my interpretation of disturbances in sadhak pitta reflects psychosomatic
disturbances. Rasa dhatu disturbance, Agni disturbance, mind-heart connection
imbalance and lack of Sattva. If Prana
Vata is also disturbed with sadhaka pitta, it is confirmed stage of mind and
heart conflict. May be leading towards pragyaparadh.
Vd. Bhavesh Thakkar: true. Heart is adhisthan of Man (mind). So sadhak
pitta will control both, heart and mind.
Vd. Mahesh Akani: Study of above Vd. Dhrut's article......An imbalenced sadhak
pitta essentially means imbalanced hormones Manjistha is very good drug for imbalanced
hormones. As we result got in infertility of women causes.. In imbalanced
hormone.
Vd. Kinshuk Hirpara: I think clinical depression also .. We can Co relate
Vd. Dhruti Kagrana: Yes,When sadhaka is imbalanced due to INCREASE
of pitta –hyperactivity –impatience and anger may be seen. When it is LOW, then
the energy of transformation –the energy that processes ‘sensory’ data,
information, emotions, thoughts and feelings may be low. Manovaha srotas are
blocked. so, depression can also be called low sadhaka.
Vd. Mahesh Akani: A family has 2 young children expired at that time
husband, wife – both Aged 48 yrs. LH, FSH, prolactin reports were abnormal….We
give her Mangistha ghan vati for 3 months. After then pregnancy confirm &
they got twins.
Sure mangistha activate
sadhak Pitta, relieves depression, balances hormones as we feels
Vd. Kinshuk Hirpara: Premenstrual syndrome PMS and post partum after
delivery depression .. All can be included also in western world there's a
disease called seasonal affective disorder( mainly the areas where's less sun
light) also can be included in violation of sadhaka pitta
Vd. Manhar Prajapati: Sadhko ह्दयेस्थित means satva depends upon Sadhak
pitta... Some pt having cold and became Stressful while pravar satva pt even suffering from life threatening
disease they became calm acceptable mode...so we need to know how we can
balance Sadhak pitta any diet or drug or yog.. Akhani sir gave good experience
about manjistha
Vd. Prerak Shah: Is
there any other herbs, which we can use to correct sadhak pitta? Like Vd.
Mahesh Akhani suggested Manjistha..
Vd. Neha Dipam Tripathi: I think yoga and pranayam are better than any
drug
Mansyadi kashay, Gudichi sattva
Vd. Kinshuk Hirpara: Anti depression drugs
in ayurveda jatamansi a pinch at bed time.
Jatamansi : the plant has
a rich history of medicinal use and has been valued for centuries in Ayurvedic
(Indian) and Unani (ancient Greco-Arab) systems of medicine. The scientific
literature contains primarily phytochemical and animal studies of the plant's
activity on the nervous system.
The
rhizomes of Nardostachysjatamansi, the plant commonly known as Jatamansi have
been described in Ayurveda for their soothing and sedative action on the central
nervous system. In the present study, the anti-stress effect of hydroethanolic
extract (70%) of N. jatamansi (NJE) was evaluated in reference to its
antioxidant property.
Shri Minoo parabia: Katupatol. Luffa echinata.
Germany Helga Fuchs: All so well said. About medicine one doctor told me about Brahmi, Vacha,
Sarpaghanda. People with disturbed SP tend for extreme food and drug's. Mind
movement to fast yes, or to slow, and tend to extreme emotional behaviours.
Paranoid disturbance. No courage for the smallest things. SP teach us humility.
Due Meditation, Yoga, Pancha Karma, Pitta Routine and food, Study's of holy
scriptures, we clean the inner and gross body. By this we understand life and
beeing better and we are able to see what is important to hold and for what to
go.
Vd. Dhruti Kagrana: Taruni - Rosa centifolia
Vd. Ketan bhimani: Jatamasi =malkangani= bhutghni.
patent drug ~ cognium from charak, allert from vasu, hibril from vital
care,,,,
Vd. Hardik bhatt: Sadhakam hridgatam pittam so I think that not
brain tonic but cardiac tonic herbs are useful to balance sadhak pittam
Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: Sadhak pitta having Tikshna Guna(sharp ness). By this characteristics, this pitta mainly
balance kapha dosha(especillay mand guna-dullness )...Sadhaka pitta removes
dullness of kapha from heart and it perceives various subjects very sharply(तैक्ष्ण्यातीक्ष्णपराक्रमा:) ...
Vd. Prerak Shah: How
to identify a herb affecting Sadhak Pitta?
Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: Charaka has not categorized pitta in five types...when
sadhak pitta increased , it causes aggressive personality...in this cases pitta
shamak herb should be given...Rose is useful.. Which increase kapha and will
balance sharp ness of pitta.. Herbs those improve intelligence increase sadhak
pitta function…Asafoetida increases pitta(sadhaka),. Asafoetida specialy
increase tikshana guna(sharp ness) of pitta, and thus it helpful in epilepsy
and coma...( मूच्छॉ अपस्मारह्रत् परम्---भावप्रकाश)..... Asafoetida decreases vata kapha and increase
pitta...asafoetida uses in many mental disorders especially where Tama
(dullness) has increased due to kapha(in heart)..asafoetida will remove this
kapha from heart and will increase sharpness(of ) pitta....--- This is
hypothetical and I believe in this firmly.. There are also many other herbs….. If
we see guns of pitta, there is only one guna(tikshna- sharpness) which concerns
with mental function...
Ref.. Charak viman.8,,
Susruta sutra- 15, Astang sutra- 14...
Vd. Ajay Pithiya: As far as the function of sadhak pitta concern it deals with
mental functions more, such as
intelligence, self consciousness, knowledge etc... Location is hradaya (not anatomical heart) …..So imbalance of sadhak
pitta can easily understand in any of psychic or psychosomatic disease …..Again
as per sushrut samhita, oja which again reside in hridaya is also depend upon
sadhak..
Drug useful in sadhak
pitta.. Tikshna guna pradhan when sadhak
pitta function hinders …….Drugs with shit mrudu guna when sadhak pitta
aggregate s
Shri Minoo parabia: Exemplary discussion. Thanks to all.
Vd. Jignesh Thakkar: kapha in mind increases alasya(laziness) but at the same time kapha
is necessary for long term memory and kshama (forgiveness).to counteract
qualities of kapha GOD placed sadhak pitta. now you will ask then if it works
on mind why it is said "साधकं ह्रद गतं पित्तं" as per my
thinking it should be a chemical which can cross the BBB. And it can be
produced when man desires to do something....then the sadhak pitta is produced
and will work until the sadhna is over.when person gets the sadhya(desired
thing) sadhna(struggle) is over. Until that point sadhak pitt counteracts
laziness created by kafa sometimes counteracts क्षमा (forgivness) also and takes works from
employees and reach the desired level.
This chemical may be produced in brain or heart and works in whole body….although
hypothesis story but can be useful to understand
work of sadhak pitta….And tulsi can be best drug to produce sadhak
pitta.because it is taken by all sadhak who is desiring to reach spiritual
level… If you badly desire something take tulsi thats what i mean to say…..As
tulsi is useful to increase sadhak pitta to pacify sadhak pitt yastimadhu, may
be usefull. Because it is said in rasayan chikitsa that..."मंडूक परण्याः स्वरसः प्रयोज्य क्षीरेण यष्टिमधुकस्य चूर्णम।मेद्यानि चेतानि रसायनी मेद्या विशेसेण शंखपुष्पी" this all
drugs creates calmness to mind increases little kapha. To increase sadhak pitta jyotishmati, vacha and tulsi
may be usefull
Bunty Gandhi: What
about herb arjuna in imbalance sadhaka pitta ? It has also hriday prabhav.. As
sadhaka pitta is connected with heart and process of thinking-emotions of
mind...
Vd. Ajay Pithiya: Mostly any of pitta is related to अग्नि व्यापार ie any of the process which converts
any substance or form of any body material to another one... Thus this agnivyapar may call as
digestion, metabolism or so on..
Pitta is mediator in all
these kind of process..
Sadhak is related to
mostly mental functions such as buddhi,
medha etc..
So for mental functions
when they need to process sadhak is essential
Vd. Jignesh Thakkar: if you desire physically anything you need heart to
bit fast and contract properly...for that you need dopamine or
adrenaline.....so can dopamine or adrenaline cconsidered as sadhak pitta???
Dr Dipak Shirude: In my experience, sadhak pitta imbalance is successfully treated
with Suvarna sutshekhar ras .. It's consumption time is considered within 11 am
to 4 pm .. Single dose is sufficient .. It affects desirably on almost
psychosomatic disturbances related with sadhak pitta ..
Vd. Prerak Shah: ok....let's
conclude this subject. Thnx all.
