Today's topic for discussion:  Diabetic foot....treating approach with #ayurveda

Vd. Prerak Shah: I have never treated this condition. But I have heard abt a homeopath indoor hospital in mumbai for this disease. Hope Ayurveda practitioner can do same someday.

Vd. Kinshuk Hirpara: I have read that diabetic foot  should be kept in vessel full of caster oil. For few days. And that foot has stopped decaying up til 40% . It is written in book of bapalal Vaidya I guess. I will confirm that in a day. A 1999 study xiv was carried out to determine whether or not topical castor oil would stimulate the lymphatic system. The findings were positive. After a two-hour treatment with castor oil packs, there was a significant increase in the number of T-11 cells, which increased over a seven-hour period following treatment. Lymphatic congestion is a major factor leading to inflammation and disease. This is where castor oil comes in. When castor oil is absorbed through your skin (according to Cayce and McGarey), your lymphocyte count increases. Increased lymphocytes speed up the removal of toxins from your tissues, which promotes healing. Courtesy mercola.com

Dr. Hardik- MD: I treat a patient with severe diabetic foot with nimba twaka kwath(azadiracta indica) and panch valkal kwath for parishek and parakshalan (wash) and bhumyamalki powder and trifla gugglu for prameha and for vrana.
Everyday dressing with jatyadi tail. Unfortunately I have no photos in my mobile now….If I will get than I will share definitely.

Bunty Gandhi: Nishosiradi Tailam is good for diabetic complications... Dont know about d foot but whenever my father feels burning sensation in feet, local application of nishoshiradi taila helps him. He gets burning sensation in feet usually in mango seasons only cause he eats 'mango milk shake' a lot..!

Vd. Hardik bhatt: Contains of nishishiradi tail ..? Or is it available ready made?

Bunty Gandhi: Haridra Ushir Bala Eladighana Kalka til taila base…Its a shashrokt ...Book Ref.:  Shashra Yoga ..

Vd. Pankaj Chhayani: There is always difficulty in healing as there is high blood sugar, and bacteria survives because of sugar..so I think its necessary to wash out that bacteria with bitter taste(tikta rasa) and kashaya rasa dravyas ...Vasa svarasa, Nimbatwak Kwath, Trifala kashaya, Vidanga kashaya and other Kashayas mentioned in Kushtha chikitsa are helpful in healing with proper management of diabetes...

Vd. Jignesh Thakkar: What can we take meaning of seven prameh pidikas described in samhitas as...
सराविका कच्छपिका जालिनी सर्षपि तथा।
अलजी विनताख्या च विद्रधि चेति सप्तमी।
Does Anybody has used sfatika for Dressing in diabetic foot.
Personally i have never cured or worked on diabetic foot…..So eager to know thanks to Vd. Prerak sir for considering this as a topic

  1. Dr. Lokesh Mehta: In diabetic foot I have used triphala gug along with dashmool kwath and prakshalan with neem and khadir chal and local application of jatyadi oil with reasonably good results. It also depends upon the other complications of the pt.
